Race 1 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND NOVICE – 520M

 

UNO UNO and MOLLY MADNESS were best to begin.  BOW WOW WOW began awkwardly.  CHROME RUN and STEAK SANDWHICH were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, DARBY’S GIRL and BOW WOW WOW collided.  In the front straight, POLLY’S GIFT was tightened for room and checked.  Approaching the 1st turn, all runners collided and were checked to varying degrees, with the exception of UNO UNO and DARBY’S GIRL.  ISADORA FROSTED bumped the running rail.  DARBY’S GIRL raced wide for the majority of the event.  Through the turn into the back straight, POLLY’S GIFT and CHROME RUN collided. Out of the back straight into the turn, MOLLY MADNESS was tightened for room and checked.  CHROME RUN, which was trailing, was hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight, CHROME RUN checked in across heels. 

 

The greyhound POLLY’S GIFT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

The greyhound ISADORA FROSTED underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 5TH GRADE – 710M

 

BRITTANY TALKS was best to begin.  DREAM BLASTER sustained an injury shortly after the start, and took no further competitive part in the event.  On entering the 1st turn, HOT EMBER was tightened for room and checked outwards, contacting the heels of FLYAWAY BARB and HAY HOPEY, which were checked and forced out wider on the track.

 

When questioned regarding the performance of HAY HOPEY, kennel representative Mr Travis Elson, stated he was disappointed and that the interference suffered in the 1st turn was significant.  Mr. Elson added that HAY HOPEY would be nominated in future events over the 600m.  Stewards noted his comments.

 

The greyhound DREAM BLASTER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 3 – UBET TAPPY FFA – 600M

 

MAGIC HORNET was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, CHAMPAGNE SALLY was tightened for room and hampered.  In the front straight, SHOES TO FILL contacted heels and was checked.  Through the turn into the back straight, MAGIC HORNET and SMART MARLOW bumped. 

 

The greyhound KNOCKER KNOCK underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days

 

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MA5 (1) – 520M

 

CRUIZE’S MAGIC began awkwardly.  RANGER DANGER and SORRENTO were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, CRUIZE’S MAGIC sustained an injury and took no further part in the event.  Out of the back straight into the turn, THAT HOUDINI was tightened for room and hampered.  RANGER DANGER checked out across heels.  Through the turn into the front straight, THAT HOUDINI and EMMA’S MAGIC collided.  On entering the front straight, THAT HOUDINI and SORRENTO collided and were checked.  Over the concluding stages of the event, SORRENTO checked out across heels.

 

The greyhound CRUIZE’S MAGIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

The greyhound AGENT’S CHOICE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND 5TH GRADE (1) – 520M

 

AMBER MARIE and NIKKI NETTLE were best to begin.  Shortly after the start, FEMME FOLLE was tightened for room and hampered.  In the front straight, MR. BELVEDERE, ROCKFORD and SNOWBALL OTTO all collided and were checked.  Through the turn into the back straight, DAZE LIKE THESE and FEMME FOLLE collided, FEMME FOLLE was severely checked.  MR. BELVEDERE was tightened for room and checked.  On entering the back straight, SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for room and was checked. 

 

Race 6 – ERIC THOMSON MEMORIAL MAIDEN BNE FINAL – 520M

 

IRISH RIPPLE and PAINT A PICTURE were best to begin.  DEFY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, RASHEDA and MISS CASH collided.  MISS CASH was then tightened for room and checked.  On entering the 1st turn, RASHEDA collided with MY WINDSONG, both runners were checked.  Shortly after, DEFY collided with RASHEDA, both runners were forced out wider on the track and checked. 

 

The greyhound DEFY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin muscle and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 520M

 

CLASSY CASSIE and PENDITA were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, INDIAN GIVER was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the back straight, INFRARED STAR was tightened for room and checked.  Out of back straight into the turn, INFRARED STAR was tightened for room and checked.  PENDITA, which was trailing, was checked.  LOCH FREDDIE collided with INFRARED STAR and was checked. 

 

Race 8 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GOLD COAST OPEN – 520M

 

SILVER STUNNER was slow to begin.  WHEATACRE, FAB FIT and PHANTOM RAZOR were all best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, FAB FIT and WHEATACRE were tightened for room and checked. Shortly after, KULU JASPER contacted the heels of SHOT CLOCK and was checked.  Through the turn into the back straight, FAB FIT and WHEATACRE were both tightened for room and checked.  On entering the front straight, DEL REY shifted out bumping CORYKODI.  Over the concluding stages of the event, CORYKODI, FAB FIT and KULU JASPER were all tightened for room and checked. 

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM MA5 (2) – 520M

 

WAHWAH TIGGY and OUTBACK SUNSHINE were slow to begin.  BIG TURLS and ARDEN STREET were best to begin.  In the front straight, NOOREE DESSA was tightened for room and hampered.  On entering the 1st turn, WAHWAH TIGGY and NOOREE DESSA bumped.  Out of the back straight into the turn, WAHWAH TIGGY was tightened for room and checked.  In the front straight, COSMO CYNDIE checked out across heels. 

 

Race 10 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS 5TH GRADE (2) – 520M

 

SNOWBALL CREED and HAY BILLY were slow to begin.  On entering the 1st turn, BILLY BOY and CAN’T POSSIBLY collided.  BILLY BOY then checked out across heels and bumped HAY BILLY.  Through the turn into the back straight, HAY BILLY checked out across the heels of TRAY BIT.  MAC ROAMIN’ was tightened for room and checked.  Out of the back straight into the turn, BILLY BOY contacted the heels of TRAY BIT and was checked. 

 

The greyhound MAC ROAMIN’ underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 11 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE (3) – 520M

 

Due to heavy rain, stewards’ delayed the running of race 11. After a subsequent track inspection with the club staff, the track was deemed suitable to race and the start time was rescheduled from 10:15PM to 10:38PM (AEST).

 

DANCE AND SING and DOUBLE SPUR bumped at the start.  Shortly after, OFF THE DECK checked in across heels.  In the front straight, DANCE AND SING was tightened for room and checked.  Through the turn into the back straight, FARMOR ABOVE and OFF THE DECK collided.  Out of the back straight into the turn, OFF THE DECK and SMALL JEWEL were tightened for room and checked.  DOUBLE SPUR, which was trailing, was checked.  Over the concluding stages of the event, DOUBLE SPUR collided with FARMOR ABOVE.  Shortly after the winning post, DANCE AND SING was tightened for room and fell.

 

The greyhound DANCE AND SING underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FARMOR ABOVE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
