Race 1 - PACERS & CHASERS MAIDEN 520m

Stewards delayed the declaration of All Clear to review replay footage in relation to a duck being present on the home straight as greyhounds had straightened after rounding the turn. After reviewing the race, Stewards were comfortably satisfied no greyhound had been affected, nor any placings, and therefore declared All Clear on the judge’s numbers.

 

3 Jaydo's Jet – bumped on the hindquarters by another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight, became unbalanced and lost ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn into the back straight.

 

4 Canya Kick – slow to begin. Tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight, shifted outwards colliding with the hindquarters of another runner and became momentarily unbalanced while losing ground. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight.

 

5 On The Buses – contacted on the heels by another runner when racing through the turn into the back straight.

 

6 Rattle The Gate – bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight.

 

9/7 Magic Sue – contacted the heels of another runner when racing through the turn into the back straight.

 

8 Tribute To Dave – slow to begin. Raced wide for a majority of the event.

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING NOVICE 520m

1 Always Forever – tightened for room when approaching the first turn, contacted another runner on the hindquarters and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

2 Tahiti Beach – hindlegs slipped on jumping resulting in the greyhound to be slow to begin. Bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.

 

3 Where's She Gone – contacted on the hindquarters when approaching the first turn and lost ground. Bumped by another runner when leaving the back straight and lost ground.

 

4 Evonne's Got Sox – bumped on the heels by another runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight. Bumped by another runner when leaving the back straight and lost ground.

 

6 Circle The Wagon - bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.

 

Race 3 – TAB - LONG MAY WE PLAY BEST 8 395m

2 Blue Diva – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

3 Wazza Who – marginally slow to begin. Tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room when entering the back straight, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room leaving the back straight, bumped the running rail and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside wrist and was stood down for 7 days.

 

6 Smashniak Double – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

7 Velocity Zarin – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room when entering the back straight, was checked and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 4 – SUE BURLEY MEMORIAL FFA 520m

1 Alby Valley – checked off heels when approaching the turn out of the front straight.

 

2 Big Bad Bob – slow to begin. Checked off heels through the turn into the back straight.

 

6 Gunnell – slow to begin. Bumped when approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn into the home straight.

 

Race 5 – DANIEL GALLAGHER MEMORIAL R5 600m

2 Waikarie Bell – slow to begin.

 

4 Blame Brendan – when entering the catching pen Blame Brendan clipped heels of another runner and fell. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

6 Screaming Betty – bumped at the start and lost ground. Trainer Ron Newland was questioned on the performance of the greyhound and its nominations over the last 14 days to include 6 starts of 520m or greater. Newland advised he was pleased with tonight’s run particularly in his opinion a strong finish over the final stages and was indicative of its usual racing pattern. Newland added the frequent racing is an attempt to improve the greyhound for future racing over 700m. Stewards advised Newland they would be monitoring the greyhounds on-going condition and performances while noting his explanations.

 

Race 6 – FAST TIMES @ SIRES ON ICE GRADE 5 520mRace name | Grade | Distance

1 Irinka Tina – slow to begin. Bumped with another runner on several occasions when rounding the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost considerable ground.

 

2 Lenny Talks – when questioned on the performance of the greyhound, particularly the greyhound losing considerable ground from the turn out of the back straight, trainer P. Cauchi advised he was disappointed with the run tonight. He advised the greyhound would be nominated for 395m events in future.

 

3 Fine Silhouette – shifted outwards shortly after the start tightening outside runners, was momentarily hampered as a consequence and lost ground.

 

4 Uno Uno – tightened between runners shortly after the start, was checked and lost ground. Checked off heels through the turn into the home straight.

 

6 Logan Belle – collided with another runner shortly after the start, was checked and lost ground. Bumped with another runner on several occasions when rounding the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost considerable ground.

 

8 Lucky Hero – slow to begin.

 

Race 7 – QLD BRED 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 520m

2 Alpha Styx – bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Bumped when approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside pin muscle and was stood down for 10 days.

 

3 Frieda Las Vegas – marginally slow to begin. Bumped when approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost ground. Momentarily hampered when tightened for room rounding the turn into the home straight.

 

9/4 Smart Cha Cha – collided heavily with another runner at the start.

 

5 Elegant Eleanor – collided heavily with another runner at the start. Bumped when approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

6 Lil Bit Foxy - bumped when approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost ground.

 

7 Lucky Duke - bumped when approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost ground.

 

Race 8 – QLD BRED 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 520m

Stewards delayed the declaration of All Clear to review the race replay particularly the distance of the lure to the lead greyhounds when approaching the turn out of the back straight. After reviewing the race, Stewards were comfortably satisfied no greyhound had been affected, nor any placings, and therefore declared All Clear on the judge’s numbers.

 

2 Provoker – tightened for room through the turn into the home straight and was momentarily hampered.

 

3 Stormy Shari – bumped on the hindquarters of another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight, and lost ground.

 

4 Fabian Feast – slow to begin. Improved onto the hindquarters of another runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost ground. Turned its head outwards and made muzzle contact with Passing Nova when rounding the turn into the home straight. Fabian Feast was stood down for 28 days at Albion Park pursuant to GAR.69 Marring, 1st offence, and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing.

 

5 Passing Nova – tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight and was momentarily hampered. Galloped on the heels by another runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

6 Ha Ha Lucky – bumped on the hindquarters of another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight, and lost ground.

 

10/8 Cha Cha Kay – slow to begin.

 

Race 9 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MA5 395m

1 White Eagle – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the back straight and lost ground.

 

2 Not Too Bossy – began awkwardly. Tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

3 Winning Light – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

9/4 Bee Solo – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

5 La Bamba – tightened for room through the turn into the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

8 Money For Jam – sustained an injury, when racing in the back straight and took no further part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a fracture to the offside hock and was stood down for 90 days. The greyhound was treated with a Robert Jones bandage, methadone, aceprom, and meloxicam. Trainer J. Cauchi was directed to seek further veterinary assessment tomorrow morning and report the findings to Stewards.

 

Update 3/3/20 @ 9:30am: Stewards have been advised Money For Jam received furthers veterinary assessment and treatment this morning. Corrective surgery been scheduled and connections advised their intentions to retire the greyhound to breeding.

 

Race 10 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD GRADE 4 395m

3 Regal Waz – slow to begin.

 

6 Good Boy Ivan – slow to begin. Checked off heels in the back straight and lost ground.

 

Race 11 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MIXED 4/5 395m

3 Dynamic Bill – slow to begin.

 

4 Selena Girl – very slow to begin.

 

5 Daydreaming – checked through the first turn.

 

6 Shadow Blitz – checked through the first turn. Checked off heels when entering the back straight.

 

7 Lady Surprise – checked through the first turn.

 

9/8 Smashniak Winx – checked through the first turn.
