Race 1 - NORTHS ST JOSEPHS JRL NOVICE (1) 520m

 

1 Jay Is Jay - Slow to begin. Trainer representative Michael Zammit stated that the greyhound had pulled up sore after its last start and had been given time to recover, he further stated that last week the greyhound had trialled to their satisfaction and the kennel expected the greyhound to be competitive. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near hind leg injury the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

3 Isurava – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer Brent Kline advised Stewards that the greyhound will now race over shorter distances than tonight’s event.

 

 

Race 2 - ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB NOVICE (2) 520m

 

4 Hello Warren – Slow to begin. Tightened on the first turn. Raced wide throughout.

 

5 Pokie Jackpot - Slow to begin.

 

6 Locked On Scotch – Bumped in the front straight. Tightened on the first turn.

 

7 Mexican Bandit – Bumped on the first turn.

 

 

Race 3 - CARINA LEAGUES CLUB MA5 (1) 520m

 

1 Mr. Blaster – Tightened entering the back straight.

 

2 Wynnum Star – Checked approaching first turn. Checked leaving back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

3 Latrell – Bumped approaching the first turn.

 

4 Double Tiara Tightened approaching the first turn.

 

5 Dundee Ember – Slow to begin.

 

 

Race 4 - MARBURG PUB GRADE 5 (1) 520m

 

2 Burnt Snags – Checked on the first turn.

 

6 Deadly Cecil - Slow to begin.

 

7 Laughing Les - Severely checked and carried wider on the first turn.

 

 

Race 5 - ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB GRADE 5 600m

 

1 Cincinnati Hope – Checked in the home straight.

 

2 Barefoot Flynn – Slow to begin. Checked entering the back straight.

 

5 Vermelo Caliente – Hampered over the concluding stages.

 

6 Springtime Gold – Checked leaving the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer’s representative stated that the greyhound didn’t handle the quick back up from the 5th of September and will look to space the greyhounds runs further in the future.

 

8 No Regrets – Bumped on the first turn.

 

 

Race 6 - KEDRON WAVELL SERVICES CLUB GRADE 5 (2) 520m

 

1 Samona – Severely checked entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side pin injury the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

3 Dixie Kath – Dragged down from behind entering the back straight.

 

9 Ruby Shines (5) – Checked off heels on the first turn. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

 

Race 7 - WALLOON SALOON HOTEL GRADE 4 520m

 

2 Hopeful Bella - Checked on the first turn.

 

4 No Swap Back – Checked on the first turn.

 

3 Springtime Jet – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

6 Night Capers – Checked on the first turn.

 

7 Tyanna Belle – Checked on the first turn.

 

8 Lucky Lance – Checked on the first turn. Checked leaving the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Robert Ayres regarding the greyhounds racing action in the home straight after considering all available evidence Stewards were satisfied the greyhound had not taken its attention away from the lure, therefore have given it the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

 

 

Race 8 - PUBLICANS CUP FINAL GRADE 5 520m

 

3 Adulate – Bumped soon after the start, raced with throughout.

 

4 Hello Mike Tightened soon after the start, checked entering the back straight.

 

5 Queenslander - Underwent post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request that revealed no significant findings.

 

6 Tricky Trenear – Slow to begin.

 

8 Cash View - Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side hind gracilis injury the greyhound has been stood down for 42 days and must complete a satisfactory Steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

Race 9 - ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB BEST 8 520m

 

2 Captain Bizarre – Bumped in the home straight.

 

4 See Them Try – Bumped in the home straight. Tightened over the concluding stages.

 

6 Feel The Beat – Bumped in the home straight. Tightened over the concluding stages.

 

 

 

Race 10 - TAB - VENUE MODE GRADE 5 (3) 520m

 

2 Dr. Libby - Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

4 Out Of Champagne – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

5 Burned – Bumped soon after the start.

 

6 Ablett Hayze – Checked soon after the start.

 

8 Disaster Piece – Checked first turn. Raced in restricted room in the home straight.

 

 

Race 11 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE GRADE 5 (4) 520m

 

1 Shaquille – Checked on the first turn. Checked approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

2 What A Mistake – Checked on the first turn and carried wider.

 

4 Yours – Slow to begin.

 

7 Set The Standard – Bumped on the first turn. Checked turning into the back straight.

 

8 Barefoot Ronnie – Slow to begin, checked on the first turn.

 

9 Brockie Magic (6) – Checked first turn and carried wider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Raymond Burman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. After viewing the video footage and considered submissions from the trainer, Stewards deemed the greyhound had turned its head inwards making contact with another runner. Therefore, Steward’s invoked GAR 123 marring 1st offence - 28 day stand down at Albion Park and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

 

Race 12 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MA5 (2) 520m

 

4 Swift Sharni – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

5 Special Was It – Gave ground over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed cramping the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Acting under the provisions of GAR 130 the greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing again.

 

8 Drink Long Necks – Lost ground shortly after the start and failed to finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side hip injury the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.
