Officials: Dr K Sharman (Vet), C Scrivens (Judge), K Downey races 1,2 and 4 -12, J Bourke race 3 (Starter), R Fedrick (Samples), C Nilsson (Lure)

General: Testing of the lure after the running of race 6 revealed mechanical problems that impact the control of the lure during the race. Stewards took statements from lure driver Craig Nilsson and further testing and submissions by lure driver Jeff Williamson. Subsequently Stewards declared the meeting abandoned as the problem could not be fixed in a timely manner.

Race 2 - TAB - VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 331m

4 Smudged Checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Checked entering the home straight.  

6 Second Star Checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Shifted out and clipped heels with another runner entering the home straight.

Race 3 - CARINA LEAGUES CLUB MAIDEN HEAT 3 MAIDEN 331m

1 Shari's Angel Clipped heels approaching the finish.

4 Impetuous Lad Checked off heels approaching the finish.

5 Flying Star Marginally slow to begin. Races awkwardly entering the turn into the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the off side fore leg, 10 days stand down from racing.

10 Princess Pearl Checked approaching the finish.

Race 4 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE (1) 331m

1 Knick Knack Mac Checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Checked of heels entering the home straight.

3 Prince Brockie Ran wide for the majority of the home straight.

5 Twice Redeemed Checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

8 Mr. Springtime Checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

Race 5 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE NOVICE (2) 331m

3 Willy Wonka Checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

4 Noel's Gem Slow to begin.

5 Frozen Lat scratching, TAB 4:53pm, near hind webbing, 7 days stand down from racing.

Race 6 - GET IT GIZMO @ NEWHAVEN STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 331m

During the running of Race 6 it was stewards’ opinion that uncontrolled movement of the lure caused by a mechanical fault had a material effect on the outcome of the race. After reviewing all available footage and taking submissions from lure driver C Nilsson, stewards declared Race 6 a No Race.
