Race Day Stewards’ Report

 

 

Bundaberg Greyhounds

Race 1 – CRAFT RENTAL & HARDWARE MAIDEN 460M

 

Cambla Yap Yap – jumped well

Grand Duke  – checked off another runner entering the first turn, through the first turn was forced wide and checked with another runner, exiting the first turn started to slow and lost the group and was sent for a veterinary examination and no major injuries were found.

Lika Kenzie  – checked as it entered the first turn

White Swirl – checked through the first turn and forced wide losing ground. Following a veterinary examination no injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – REALWAY PROPERTY CONSULTANTS NOVICE 460M

After the jump and into the first turn the entire field was tight and all checked to varying degrees

All The Same – was checked from behind and lost footing as it was exiting the first turn, along the back straight and entering the first turn began to slow and lose the field. After the race a veterinary examination found no obvious injuries, stewards spoke with trainer Natasha Ogden regarding the running of her dog and its performance.

Minor Details – checked off the heels of another runner as it exited the first turn.

 

Race 3 – GREAT NORTHERN 5TH GRADE 460M

Belli Blue – was slow to begin

Gallon Of Cambla – was wide along the back straight and exiting the home turn.

Betta Be Bundy – moved wide exiting the home turn and along the finish straight.

 

Race 4 – TERRY’S SIGNS 5TH GRADE 460M

Even start, and the field was tight entering the first turn.

Pearly Whites – through the first turn checked off another runner

Bet You Will – checked with another runner through the first turn

 

Race 5 – RAY EDWARD REAL ESTATE 5TH GRADE 460M

Drives Me Crazy – slow to begin.

Sweet Cambla – was checked into the first turn

Dizzy Cambla – checked through the first turn

 

Race 6 – PRIME AGENTS 3 & 4TH GRADE 460M

Brandy Cambla – was slow to begin, and checked with another runner through the first turn, along the back straight was wide.

Hypnotise Eyes – began slowly and was wide along the back straight. It also moved wide exiting the home turn and finish straight.

Sandshoe – was checked through the first turn.

Due to a malfunction there was no time taken for the race.

 

Race 7 – EASTER CUP FINAL 4/5TH GRADE 460M

Emulating Chloe – jumped very well.

Kiewa Rebel – was squeezed out the back of the group as they entered the first turn, and was tight with several runners through the turn.

Windy Girl – was tight through the first turn and was checked by another runner and lost ground. Along the back straight she began to slow dramatically and took no further competitive part in the event. a post-race veterinary examination found the greyhound had suffered a RF Carpal Sprain and stood down for a period of 35 days

Wicked Tay – was tight through the first turn and checked another runner

Because of the timing malfunction from the previous race not being resolved a hand time was taken.

 

Race 8 – GSL LAWYERS BEST 8 460M

Dyna Raze – checked through the first turn, and then as it was running through the second turn checked the heels of another runner and lost some ground.

Cambla Lala – checked the heels of another runner through the first turn.

Shooting Through – was checked from behind as it ran through the first turn and as it was exiting the first turn had immediately lost pace and took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination found it had suffered a fracture to the RH hock and was humanely euthanized.

Foxy Fireball – through the home turn was checked from behind by another runner.
