General: Race 5 - Due to the distance of the lure getting too far in front of the leading dog, stewards acting under GAR 109(3) declared the event a no race.

Race 1 - NAIDOC CELEBRATION CHASE MAIDEN (1) 460m

 

1 Clever Cambla – Through 1st turn improved onto heels. A short distance later, eased and turned its head outwards to the runner on its outside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a nearside pin muscle strain and was stood down from racing for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Steven Bland regarding the greyhound’s racing action through the first turn, after reviewing the video replay and the submissions from Mr Bland, stewards invoked GAR 125(a) Failing to pursue by reason of injury. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Clever Cambla was suspended from racing at Bundaberg for 10 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next after the injury period has expired.

 

2 Haulage - Through 1st turn was checked. Leaving the 1st turn was inconvenienced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

 

4 Social Impact – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

5 Miss Sassy Girl – Slow to begin, a post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside sprung toe, was stood down from racing for 28 days and will need to perform a satisfactory steward’s trial once the injury stand down period has expired.

 

6 Violet's The One – Late scratching @ 10:27am on veterinary advice. A pre kennelling veterinary examination revealed a nearside hip support strain and a nearside calf muscle strain and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

 

7 Laurie – Slow to begin.

 

8 Orson Alison – Entering home straight forced across heels by another runner.

 

 

 

Race 2 - EAST END HOTEL MAIDEN (2) 460m

 

4 Sounds Good – Through the 1st turn was tightened and checked. A short distance later appeared injured. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside sprained wrist and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

 

6 Budgie Mule – Was inconvenienced shortly after the start. Improved onto heels through the 1st turn.

 

8 Miss San Cisco – Checked across the heels of another runner in the back straight. Into the turn off the back straight, was severely checked, falling as a result. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

 

 

Race 3 - BARGARA BAKERY NOVICE 460m

 

9 (5) Chase Me Candy – Slow to begin.

 

 

 

Race 4 – TAB 0-4 WINS 550m

 

2 Nomad Road – In the home straight on the first occasion was checked.

 

4 Mount Cambla – In the front straight for the first time of asking, was tightened between runners and was severely checked, falling as a result. A post-race veterinary revealed an offside bruised shoulder and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

 

6 Zambora Chief - In the home straight on the first occasion was inconvenienced. Trainer Phil Carter was fined $100 under GAR 99 for failing to provide a catcher for his greyhound.

 

 

 

Race 5 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS GRADE 5 (1) 460m

 

Due to the distance of the lure getting too far in front of the leading dog, stewards acting under GAR 109(3) declared the event a no race.

 

 

 

Race 6 - ENDEAVOUR FOUNDATION GRADE 5 (2) 460m

 

4 Sassy Elle – Slow to begin.

 

5 Blazing Bandit – Into the first turn, was tightened, checked, and inconvenienced. A short distance later appeared to be injured. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a nearside front pin muscle strain and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

 

7 Little Shelly – Slow to begin.

 

 

 

Race 7 – TAB MIXED 4/5 460m

 

2 Tempting Fate – Late scratching @ kennelling, 10:51am due to weight variation. Trainer Phillip Shaxson was fined $100 under GAR 101(3)(b.)

 

5 Hotshot Bear – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the starting boxes, subsequently the greyhound was scratched on veterinary advice and was stood down from racing for 5 days. Late scratching at 2:03pm.

 

7 Sholto – Into the turn off the back straight, tightened and checked.

 

 

 

Race 8 - TERRY SIGNS GRADE 4 460m

 

No racing incidents.

 

 

 

Race 9 - VALDA HALTER MEMORIAL BEST 8 460m

 

8 Little Ripper – Improved onto heels and was checked.

 

 

 

Race 10 - SKY RACING MA5 460m

 

6 Bunya Beauty - Slow to begin.
