The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound NOOREE DESSA performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.40.

 

The greyhound KAWATI AS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.87.

 

Trainer Mr. R Hazelgrove was fined $50 under Rule 33 for Non Production of Registration paper for the greyhound CHEEKY FREYER.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start SPEAR IT and PAW PERFORMER collided resulting in both greyhounds being hampered.  Shortly after RODMAN, ZABDON VUITTON and ISA STAR all raced tight resulting in ISA STAR being checked.  NORDOC MAGIC, which was following, was hampered.  Out of the turn into the back straight ISA STAR, NORDOC MAGIC and SPEAR IT all collided, resulting in all 3 greyhounds being checked.  Leaving the back straight RODMAN improved onto the heels of TABBERER and was hampered.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Final 431m

TIP YA CAP was slow to begin.  Into the 1st turn RYLI’S MIA, IMMORTAL MARY and BASIN BOGIE all collided, resulting in IMMORTAL MARY and BASIN BOGIE being checked.  Through the 1st turn TIP YA CAP, IMMORTAL MARY and BASIN BOGIE all raced tight, resulting in IMMORTAL MARY being checked.  STEP LIKE HAYNE which was following was also checked.  Upon entering the home turn NINA ROSE HI and TIP YA CAP collided resulting in both being checked.  BASIN BOGIE which was following was hampered.  NINA ROSE HI and TIP YA CAP bumped upon entering the front straight resulting in both greyhounds being hampered.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

FABULOUS LENY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BOMBAY ROLLER, GIL MARCHI and DUSTY WAY were all tightened and checked to varying degrees.  Shortly after, SPRING DRAGO and SEIZED ASSET collided and were both hampered.  Through the 1st turn SPRING DRAGO, SEIZED ASSET and CHEEKY CHEECH all raced tight resulting in SPRING DRAGO and SEIZED ASSET being checked.  DUSTY WAY which was following was subsequently hampered.  Leaving the back straight into the turn GIL MARCHI and BOMBAY ROLLER collided and were both checked.

 

The greyhound SEIZED ASSET was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 431m

DOOHAN TIME and DETROIT MUSCLE were best to begin.  Shortly after the start IRMA ADELINE and LUCY BENZ bumped and were both hampered.  Through the 1st turn CHEEKY FREYER and IRMA ADELINE bumped, resulting in CHEEKY FREYER losing ground.  Leaving the back straight into the turn DOOHAN TIME and FARMOR EYE AM both collided and were checked.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 520m

MAYWYN’S YING was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BULL TITAN was tightened for room and was checked.  Leaving the front straight into the 1st turn WHITE MARLIN, MAYWYN’S YING, PROUD AS PUNCH, MAYWYN WILL WIN and BEAR FOR BREAKY all raced tight, resulting in MAYWYN’S YING and PROUD AS PUNCH being hampered, BEAR FOR BREAKY being checked and MAYWYN WILL WIN being severely checked.  SPLIT SYSTEM which was following collided with MAYWYN WILL WIN, resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  Shortly after BULL TITAN and MAYWYN’S YING collided with both greyhounds being checked.

 

The greyhound WHITE MARLIN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 520m

SPRING FIRECHIEF was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MAYWYN’S COPY, THERE SHE WAS and ZARA GIRL all raced tight, resulting in MAYWYN’S COPY being hampered.  Leaving the front straight into the turn SPRING SHANGHAI, MAYWYN’S COPY, THERE SHE WAS and ZARA GIRL all raced tight resulting in MAYWN’S COPY and THERE SHE WAS being checked.  Shortly after SPRING SHANGHAI and ZARA GIRL collided with both greyhounds being hampered.  Leaving the back straight into the turn CRAZY VIXON shifted in tightening GOLD ZIVA which resulted in that greyhound being hampered.  Entering the back straight SLAYER RETURN and GOLD ZIVA collided resulting in both greyhounds being hampered.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 431m

KITBOOLOU ADAM was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start HECTORMALEE, FARMOR MAYHEM, HAY YOU BOY and KING’S GEM all raced tight, resulting in FARMOR MAYHEM and HAY YOU BOY being checked.  On entering the 1st turn MAYWYN ZILCH, MAGIC FLY HIGH and FARMOR MAYHEM all collided resulting in all 3 greyhounds being checked.  HAY YOU BOY was hampered as a result of this incident.  MAGIC FLY HIGH and HECTORMALEE bumped in the front straight.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m

SOUTHERN FLOSS was best to begin with HER FAULT and SPRING MILLIE slow to begin.  On entering the 1st turn SHANAE’S MAGIC and HER FAULT raced tight, resulting in HER FAULT being checked.  LONESOME DUK raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound SPRING MILLIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance of SPRING MILLIE, trainer Mr. C Byers stated that the greyhound races best when drawn in the inside boxes and that he did support the greyhound in today’s event. Stewards noted Mr. Byers’ comments.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start GUNNADOO RAIDER, SPRING TWIG and SMART HORNET raced tight resulting in SPRING TWIG being checked.  Shortly after SMART HORNET and PROTO PENNY collided resulting in SMART HORNET being checked.  On entering the 1st turn STORM ROSE HI, SPRING TWIG and SMART HORNET all collided with SPRING TWIG and SMART HORNET being checked.  In the back straight SMART HORNET was tightened for racing room and was hampered.  Leaving the back straight into the turn GUNNADOO RAIDER and TWO BEERS collided resulting in GUNNADOO RAIDER being checked.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start DRAGON DANCER, EL MALAMUTE, HURRICANE CHANCE, CUPPA TEA KIWI, HERE’S CHEERS and SISTA TASHA all raced tight resulting in HURRICANE CHANCE, CUPPA TEA KIWI, HERE’S CHEERS and SISTA TASHA all being checked.  Leaving the 1st turn HERE’S CHEERS, SISTA TASHA and GOTTA GET UP all raced tight, resulting in SISTA and GOTTA GET UP being hampered and forced wider on the track.  MISS DENMARK raced wide in the back straight.
