The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.
Race 1 DELICATE HARRY
Race 4 NOT ANOTHA GINGA
Race 10 LADY CORSAIR
Race 7 BEAR FOR BREAKY Injured in running, near side shoulder, 6 weeks
DELICATE HARRY was best to begin. Shortly after ROSDUE GOANNA, HOPEFUL JACK and DUTCHESS DOLLY all raced tight resulting in ROSDUE GOANNA and DUTCHESS DOLLY losing ground. Through the 1st turn CYNO CANDY checked across the heels of PAW DIDEMIS and lost ground. Leaving the 1st turn DUTCHESS DOLLY checked off the heels of CYNO CANDY. Approaching the back turn EYE SPYED YA shifted in abruptly tightening DELICATE HARRY causing DELICATE HARRY to be inconvenienced and lose ground. ROSDUE GOANNA and CYNO CANDY both raced wide for the middle and late stages of the event.
The greyhound DELICATE HARRY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Even start. Shortly after BOEHRINGER, AEROPLANE LOU, CYNO SPOT and COOL GUY all raced tight. Through the 1st turn COOL GUY, AEROPLANE LOU and CYNO SPOT were all checked and all greyhounds lost ground in the incident. Leaving the 1st turn COOL GUY checked off the heels of NINA ROSE HI and lost ground. Approaching the back turn NINA ROSE HI improved onto the heels of BOEHRINGER was checked and lost ground.
Race 3 – Novice 431m
SPRING DRAGO was best to begin. Through the 1st turn GALWAY SUPERSTAR was tightened and lost its position. Approaching the back turn SPRING DRAGO and CHEEKY CHEECH collided as did GALWAY SUPERSTAR and BRALYN LUIGI, resulting in all greyhounds becoming unbalanced. CHEEKY CHEECH raced wide in the back and home straights.
Race 4 – Novice 431m
OUR ELITE was slow to begin. Into
the 1st turn KAR BLU, PREPARE YOURSELF, ROSCUE SPRITE and DASH OF
FAITH were all tightened resulting in PREPARE YOURSELF and DASH OF FAITH begin
checked, SNOW RUNNER which was following
was also inconvenienced for clear running.
Leaving the 1st turn NOT ANOTHA GINGA was tightened for room
losing its position. At the same point
of the race, leaving the front straight KAR BLU improved onto the heels of DASH
OF FAITH resulting in KAR BLU and DASH OF FAITH being severely checked and
losing considerable ground. PREPARE
YOURSELF and ROSDUE SPRITE which were following also suffered major
interference. Approaching the back turn
NOT ANOTHA GINGA made contact with the running rail. PREPARE YOURSELF and ROSDUE SPRITE raced wide
in the back and home straights.
The greyhound NOT ANOTHA GINGA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 5 – 4/5th
Grade 431m
HOUINDEED was slow to begin. Into the 1st turn there was tightening from PACIFIC CHAMP, WHIRLY WAY, HECTORMALEE, KING’S GEM, FLASH ZOE and IPSWICH MELODY resulting in WHIRLY WAY, HECTORMALEE and KING’S GEM losing their positions. Leaving the 1st turn PACIFIC CHAMP checked off the heels of FLASH ZOE and raced wide from that point in the race.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade 520m
The start of this race was delayed due to holding for an interstate venue.
FYRE GAL was slow to begin. SOUTHERN FLOSS, GLENALLON RINGO and MAYWYN’S YING all raced wide through the 1st turn and SOUTHERN FLOSS and GLENALLON RINGO both race wide throughout.
Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Final 520m
PROUD AS PUNCH was best to being and SPRING FIRECHIEF was slowest. Approaching the 1st turn SLAYER RETURN contacted the heels of another greyhound and raced wide from that point. At the same point in the race MAYWYN’S COPY was checked from the heels of WHITE MARLIN. Leaving the 1st turn BEAR FOR BREAKY suffered an injury and took no further competitive part in the race.
The greyhound BEAR FOR BREAKY was vetted and
found to have suffered an injury to the near side shoulder and was stood down
for a period of 6 weeks.
Race 8 – 5th Grade 431m
CHEEKY FREYER was best to begin. SPRING TWIG was slow to begin. Into the 1st turn SHAYLOR NORRIS, KILTY JACK and HABANA FLEX bumped and all become unbalanced. Leaving the 1st turn SNOWBALL BOB and DETROIT MUSCLE both suffered interference and lost ground. At the same point in the race HABANA FLEX brushed the running rail. Approaching the back turn SHAYLOR NORRIS improved up onto the heels of DETROIT MUSCLE and lost ground. KILTY JACK raced wide rounding the home turn and home straight.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m
Even start. Into the 1st turn CUPPA TEA KIWI, JANE’S JEZABEL, MASTER CORSAIR, MISS DENMARK, DIRTY DESSA and REBBLE ROSE HI all raced tight resulting in MASTER CORSAIR, MISS DENMARK and DIRTY DESSA all losing their positions. DIRTY DESSA raced wide for the majority.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m
TEMNICK was best to begin. Shortly after TEETH GRIEF and STORM ROSE HI bumped resulting in both becoming unbalanced. Through the 1st turn LADY CORSAIR checked off the heels of TEMNICK, WALLOON SMARTIE which was following was checked, LADY CORSAIR and WALLOON SMARTIE both lost ground in this incident. Leaving the 1st turn LADY CORSAIR and SMASH TO FEAR collided and both were inconvenienced and lost considerable ground. TEETH GRIEF raced wide throughout.
The greyhound LADY CORSAIR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
