SEASON’S GREETINGS NOVICE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start GALWAY ALICE and MAYWYN’S NOMAD collided causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the 1st turn ZAZU’S HEADACHE shifted out colliding with HAVANA BLACK causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight MAYWYN’S NOMAD clipped heels and lost ground.

CHRISTMAS TREE 5th GRADE 431M

NAUGHTY JESS was best to begin with KNOCKA NOVA marginally slow.  In the 1st turn BLAZIN’ BLUE, KYLE THE TANK and ARFA SHOW OFF collided resulting in ARFA SHOW OFF to fall and give no further competitive part in the race with KYLE THE TANK and BLAZIN’ BLUE to lose ground.

 

The greyhound ARFA SHOW OFF underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

3.

SANTA’S SLEIGH 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start GEMMA BENZ and TIM AND NIEL were racing tight and lost ground.  In the 1st turn FARAHMAC and GEMMA BENZ bumped causing GEMMA BENZ to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING ROY got onto the heels of GEMMA BENZ causing GEMMA BENZ to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight READY CETTE clipped heels resulting in SOCIAL and WHAT A MESS to be checked and all greyhounds to be hampered.

 

The greyhound GEMMA BENZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Shortly after the start BOGIE TEJAY, SPRING ELLIE and ZHICHAO LEE all raced tight causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  In the 1st turn ZHICHAO LEE clipped the heels of PRINCESS EMALYS causing PRINCESS EMALYS to fall and give no further competitive part in the race and ZHICHAO LEE to lose ground.  Leaving the top turn CALL ME AUSSIE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

The greyhound ZHICHAO LEE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PRINCESS EMALYS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound CALL ME AUSSIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

SILENT NIGHT 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M

Even start.  In the 1st turn SALUDOS, MYONA MORPHEUS and THROTTLE ON collided causing all greyhounds to lose ground.  Entering the back straight SALUDOS and MYONA MORPHEUS were both tightened for racing room and lost ground.  rounding the turn into the home straight SALUDOS collided with PRATER’S SAINT causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

 

Stewards questioned Mr Tom Tzouvelis about the action of the greyhound, after reviewing all available evidence stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had breached any racing rules.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS 5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M

Even start with DREAMING DORA and SHADOW EDGE marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn DREAMING DORA and SHAKEY SHOW collided with both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the back straight ELOISE was wide.  In the top turn NINPIN, ELLA GRACIA and ELOISE collided causing ELLA GRACIA and ELOISE to lose ground.

CHRISTMAS STOCKING 3/4th GRADE 520M

VOLKEY was best to begin. In the 1st turn LITTLE MISS SHOW clipped heels, shifted out resulting in COME TOGETHER being checked and both lost ground. In the back straight DREAM BLASTER was wide. In the top turn OUTBACK SUNSHINE and VOLKEY were tightened for racing room and both lost ground. Rounding the turn in to the front straight  OUTBACK SUNSHINE clipped heels and was hampered.

 

The greyhound COME TOGETHER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side fibula and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

The greyhound OUTBACK SUNSHINE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

LITTLE ACH CEE was best to begin.  In the 1st turn SHOW BOUND and RUN KAY RUN collided causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the turn into the front straight SHOW BOUND and PAN YOKO collided causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

 

The greyhound RUN KAY RUN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

9.

CHRISTMAS PRESENTS 5th GRADE 431M

NEW ABODE was best to begin.  In the 1st turn SAMANTHA BENZ, SECOND GEAR, BIG DIPPA and BUD’S DELIGHT all raced tight causing BIG DIPPA and SAMANTHA BENZ to fall and give on further competitive part with SECOND GEAR losing ground.  In the top turn BURNING OAK and BUD’S DELIGHT bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

 

The greyhound SAMANTHA BENZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was humanely euthanised.

 

The greyhound BIG DIPPA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the skull and was humanely euthanised.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 5th GRADE 431M

ROSDUE SPRITE was best to begin with BAZINGA BENZ and RED JUMPER marginally slow.  In the 1st turn RED JUMPER, IMA RUNAWAY and BAZINGA BENZ collided causing BAZINGA BENZ and RED JUMPER to be hampered and IMA RUNAWAY to lose ground.  Approaching the top turn RED JUMPER clipped heels and lost ground.  In the top turn SPRING ERNIE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

The greyhound RED JUMPER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
