ZABDON VEYRON, GOTCHA MOCHA and RAPID MAIL were best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn PHANTOM ROAD, TOPDECK DUK and LITTLE LUCK raced tight and bumped.  In the 1st turn, PHANTOM ROAD was impeded and shifted out causing TOPDECK DUK and LITTLE LUCK to check off heels and lose considerable ground as a consequence.  Leaving the 1st turn GOTCHA MOCHA and RICH BURGUNDY checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, RICH BURGUNDY checked off heels and lost ground as a result.

2.

SKY RACING MAIDEN – 520M

LET’S WIN BILLY was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, APOLLO’S WARRIOR and INFRARED STAR raced tight and checked, causing INFRARED STAR to lose ground.  In the 1st turn, LET’S WIN BILLY shifted in and checked heavily with APOLLO’S WARRIOR, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.  INFRARED STAR, INFRARED LAD and MARDI GRAS NOEL, which were trailing, all collided with LET’S WIN BILLY, causing all LET’S WIN BILLY and INFRARED LAD to fall and MARDI GRAS NOEL and INFRARED STAR to lose substantial ground and any competitive chance in the race thereafter. 

 

The greyhound INFRARED LAD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound MARDI GRAS NOEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LET’S WIN BILLY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a hip support injury and was stood down for a period of 14 days

FLAPPING GUMS and STAR RISE were best to begin.  DOUBLE SWATZA, SHAKEY RANDLE and ARABIAN SHREDDER raced tight and bumped approaching the 1st turn, causing SHAKEY RANDLE to lose ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight ARABIAN SHREDDER was impeded and lost ground.

 

 

The greyhound ARABIAN SHREDDER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the off near side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days

SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 – 520M

Due to mechanical problems with the lure, all races were put back 1 race prior to the commencement of Race 4.

 

IZY GOLD was best to begin.  BERGAMO was marginally slow.  MERLOT HAYZE and STROGANOFF raced wide through the 1st turn and also through the turn into the back straight.  STROGANOFF continued to race wide for the majority of the race thereafter.  Approaching the top turn, BERGAMO checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, FIRE TO RAIN stumbled and became unbalanced, losing ground as a result.  IZY GOLD, which was trailing, was impeded as a consequence.

 

The greyhound FIRE TO RAIN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound STROGANOFF underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the off side hip  and was stood down for a period of 10 days

AUCTION SERIES IPS (G3) HEAT 1 OPEN – 520M

MISS AMELIA and CRAZY EMJAY were best to begin, CLOVER CONNIE was slow.  VIKING WHITE raced wide through the turn into the back straight.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SHE’S SOME GAL was impeded and shifted out as a result.  MR MICKEY, CLOVER CONNIE and BRITTANY TALKS raced tight and bumped on multiple occasions, over the concluding stages of the race.

AUCTION SERIES IPS (G3) HEAT 12OPEN – 520M

SMALL JEWEL was best to begin, and stumbled shortly after the start, losing ground as a result.  KYELLA, which was trailing, was impeded.  Approaching the 1st turn, BRANDY ALEXANDER checked off heels and lost ground.  LITTLE EDDIE raced wide through the 1st turn, and also through the turn into the back straight.  Approaching the top turn BRANDY ALEXANDER checked off heels and lost ground.  LITTLE EDDIE raced wide through the top turn, and for the remainder of the race thereafter.  SMALL JEWEL and TUNDRA STORM raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.  KYELLA and REDNECK BANJO also raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.

AUCTION SERIES IPS (G3) HEAT 3 OPEN – 520M

SHORT SESSION and TRAY BIT were both best to begin.  OUR DELIVERANCE and BLACK RUSKY were both marginally slow and checked immediately after the start, losing ground as a consequence.  Approaching the 1st turn, PERFECT TOUCH commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, OUR DELIVERANCE and BLACK RUSKY both checked into PERFECT TOUCH, causing those greyhounds to lose ground as a consequence.  Approaching the top turn, SHORT SESSION commenced to yield ground.

 

The greyhound SHORT SESSION underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PERFECT TOUCH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 14 days

 

Stewards questioned trainer, Mr R Hazelgrove, about the performance of the greyhound SHORT SESSION.  Mr Hazelgrove explained that the greyhound, in his opinion, didn’t make the distance and he expects it to race over shorter distances in the near future.

AUCTION SERIES IPS (G3) HEAT 4 OPEN – 520M

CAN’T POSSIBLY was marginally slow to begin and was tightened for racing room immediately after the start, losing ground as a consequence.  Approaching the 1st turn CAN’T POSSIBLY collided heavily with SLICK SHANNON, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground and any competitive chance in the race thereafter.  KYEEKY, was also inconvenienced as a result of that contact and lost significant ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, HONEY BE GOOD and KYEEKY checked.

 

The greyhound CAN’T POSSIBLY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

FOLLOW THE DUK was best to begin.  NASH TATO was slow.  At the 1st turn, KAAN PAKMAK shifted out and checked into JETTA KNIGHT, causing KAAN PAKMAK to lose ground.  BURNING OAK and COSMIC REVENGE which were trailing, were inconvenienced as a result and lost ground.  Approaching the top turn, FROSTY BEJAY checked off heels and lost ground.  COSMIC REVENGE and LITE ME UP raced tight and bumped, leaving the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound KAAN PAKMAK underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M

Race 10 was delayed by approximately 4 minutes, due to a discrepancy between the advertised starting time and the scheduled time on SKY CHANNEL. 

 

WILLY TOULA, KAWATI SON and GIFTED ANGEL were all best to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight GIFTED ANGEL checked off heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, SASSY OAKS checked off heels and lost ground.  ZAHARA DYE raced wide in the back straight.  Leaving the top turn, WILLY TOULA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  ZAHARA DYE and KAWATI SON raced wide through the turn into the front straight, and for the remainder of the race thereafter.
