Race 1 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 520M

 

GRU began awkwardly and bumped with WERINA ROCKET immediately after the start.  BEE SOLO shifted inwards immediately after the start.  At the 1st turn, IVY’S BOUQUET and GRU bumped, causing GRU to lose ground.  Approaching the top turn, BEE SOLO was impeded and lost momentum.

 

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 520M

 

JAKEY BOY and LADYLIKE GRACE were both best to begin.  DARBY’S GIRL slipped at the start and began awkwardly.  At the 1st turn, EYE HATE CAKE shifted out sharply, which severely inconvenienced VELOCITY MELINKA causing VELOCITY MELINKA to lose considerable ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, OXLEY ONE collided into DARBY’S GIRL, causing DARBY’S GIRL to lose substantial ground.    EYE HATE CAKE raced wide through the turn into the back straight, and remained wide for the remainder of the race.  Approaching the top turn, JAKEY BOY commenced to yield ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, OXLEY ONE was momentarily impeded. 

 

The greyhound JAKEY BOY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound JAKEY BOY was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71, Unsatisfactory Performance, with the greyhound required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing. 

 

Race 3 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM NOVICE – 520M

 

NITRO NORMA and LALLYBROCH were both best to begin.  EYE LIKE CAKE checked off heels shortly after the start and lost ground.  At the 1st turn, SIMMSY’S NINERON and COOL HAND GUS raced tight and checked, losing ground as a result.  WAZZA QUEEN, which was trailing, collided into those greyhounds and also lost substantial ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, EYE LIKE CAKE checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the top turn, SIMMSY’S NINERON was tightened for racing room and lost momentum.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, COOL HAND GUS deviated its attention from the lure, to the greyhound racing to its outside.

 

The greyhound SIMMSY’S NINERON underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

The greyhound COOL HAND GUS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Connection to the greyhound COOL HAND GUS was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69(b), Failing to Pursue with Injury, with the greyhound being stood down for a period of 14 days, and to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing. 

 

Race 4 – TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 431M

 

FOXY BE GOOD and CAWBOURNE BIGRED were best to begin.  At the 1st turn, CAWBOURNE BIGRED shifted in, which tightened the running of NASH TATO, SAMURAI PIZZACAT and GET SHORTY, with all those greyhounds losing substantial ground to varying degrees.  Shortly after, SAMURAI PIZZACAT and CAWBOURNE BIGRED checked and lost ground.

RACHEL TERROR was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, ALPHA RHEA was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  GOOD GOLLY OLLY, which was trailing, collided heavily into ALPHA RHEA, causing ALPHA RHEA to fall.  CORSICAN, which was trailing those greyhounds, collided heavily into GOOD GOLLY OLLY, with both greyhounds losing substantial ground.  Approaching the top turn, RACHEL TERROR and TIGGY BUZZARD bumped.  Shortly after TIGGY BUZZARD checked off heels and became unbalanced.  Midway in the front straight, BELLEEK deviated its attention and made muzzle contact with RACHEL TERROR, which was racing to its outside. 

 

The greyhound ALPHA RHEA underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound GOOD GOLLY OLLY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BELLEEK underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound BELLEEK was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69, Marring 1st offence, with the greyhound being stood down for a period of 28 days, and to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing. 

 

Race 6 – BUTCHER CO 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M

VALKYRIE NIGHT was best to begin.  GITCHA HUMMIN’ was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, RAZZIAI RAIN shifted out and checked into GITCH HUMMIN’, which in turn checked into FARCELONA FENIX and FARMOR IN TUNE, causing GITCHA HUMMIN’, FARCELONA FENIX and FARMOR IN TUNE to all lose considerable ground.  Approaching the top turn, GITCHA HUMMIN’ and FARCELONA FENIX bumped. 

 

Race 7 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

 

SLEEK STYLE was best to begin, APOLLO’S WARRIOR, SHINE ANNA and BETTA BE BUNDY were all marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, SURFBOARD checked off the heels of SHINE ANNA, causing SHINE ANNA to shift out sharply and collide heavily into BUTTERFLY IS SHE.  Just prior to the finish, SURFBOARD was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

Race 8 – SKY RACING 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

 

CRAZY BELLA and SAIL SURFER were best to begin, CHIPPIES was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, CHIPPIES and PRATER’S ACE raced tight and checked, with both greyhounds racing wide and losing substantial ground as a result.  Leaving the 1st turn, GYPSY WILD and SAIL SURFER bumped.  At the top turn, SIX GUN improved onto the heels of ARCH RIVAL, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result.  Shortly after, PRATER’S ACE, which was trailing, checked off heels of SIX GUN and lost ground.

ELLY BYE BYE was best to begin.  BINALONG ROAD was marginally slow.  VALKYRIE BLUE and GALA SHOW raced tight and bumped approaching the 1st turn.  In the 1st turn, GOT THERE was tightened for racing room and checked off the rear of GALA SHOW.  Approaching the top turn, GALA SHOW shifted in which momentarily impeded BINALONG ROAD.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, BINALONG ROAD was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

The greyhound VALKYRIE BLUE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound VALKYRIE BLUE was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71, Unsatisfactory Performance, with the greyhound required to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing. 

 

Race 10 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND 5TH GRADE (4) – 431M

 

SWEET ELLA ROSE was best to begin, BOWENVALE was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, SWEET ELLA ROSE and PARIS QUEEN checked, causing both to lose momentum.  BOWENVALE and MAMMA’S BOY, which were trailing PARIS QUEEN, collided into PARIS QUEEN and all lost ground to varying degrees.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, SHAKEY RANDLE shifted in which impeded SPRING BENNY, causing SPRING BENNY to lose momentum.  Approaching the top turn, SPRING BENNY and SWEET ELLA ROSE raced tight and checked, causing SPRING BENNY to lose ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, PARIS QUEEN checked off heels and shifted wide.
