Race 1 - TAB MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 431m

1 Spring Jasper – bumped at the start and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

2 National Cheer – bumped at the start. Tightened for room when entering the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

3 This Time Darkie – bumped at the start. Tightened for room when entering the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

5 Gun's Son – bumped at the start. Tightened for room when entering the first turn, checked and lost ground. Contacted on heels by another runner and became momentarily unbalanced when entering the first turn.

 

6 Silky Chiffon – improved onto heels and checked when entering the first turn.

 

7 Yogi's Shadow – collided with another runner, which shifted outwards, when rounding the turn into the home straight, was severely checked and lost considerable ground.

 

8 Auriga Alwina – Shifted outwards when rounding the turn into the home straight, turning its head and making muzzle on several occasions with another runner, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Geoff Draheim was advised the greyhound would be stood down pursuant R69 Marring for a first offence and is ineligible to compete at Ipswich for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory Stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

9/4 Majestic Nova – bumped at the start. Tightened for room and checked when leaving the back straight.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 431m

1 Anfield Miss – shifted outwards approaching the first turn, collided with other runners, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Checked off heels when entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain the off foreleg and was stood down for 10 days.

 

3 Black Magic Mojo – tightened for room and bumped with other runners when entering the first turn and was momentarily hampered.

 

4 Auriga Rachel – tightened for room and bumped with other runners when entering the first turn, checked and lost ground. Raced wide for most of the event. Shifted out across heels when entering the home straight, collided with another runner, was severely checked and lost considerable ground.

 

5 Dynamite Dolly – collided with another runner when entering the first turn and was momentarily hampered.

 

6 Spring Mover – collided with another runner when entering the first turn and was momentarily hampered. Clipped on the heels by another runner when racing through the turn towards the home straight and was momentarily hampered.

 

7 Rosdue Totem – tightened for room and bumped with other runners when entering the first turn and was momentarily hampered. Checked off heels in the back straight. Improved onto the heels of another runner when racing through the turn towards the home straight. Collided with another runner, which shifted outwards, when entering the home straight, was severely checked and lost considerable ground

 

8 Hidden Pearl – marginally slow to begin. Tightened for room and bumped with other runners when entering the first turn, checked and lost ground.

1 Spring Dani – bumped with another runner when entering the first turn, checked off heels and collided with another runner, was checked and lost ground.

 

2 Frosty Girl – tightened for room when approaching the first turn, checked and lost ground. Collided with another runner shortly after, was severely checked and lost ground. Checked off heels over the concluding stages.

 

3 Brandy Balloon – bumped with another runner through the first turn. Tightened for room over the concluding stages and was momentarily hampered.

 

4 Liberty Belle – permitted a weight variation of -1.2kg. Contacted on the hindquarters by another runner through the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

5 This Time Tessie – bumped with another runner through the first turn and lost ground. Tightened for room over the concluding stages and bumped with other runners.

 

6 Big Bad Ned – improved onto heels when entering the first turn, then shortly after checked off heels and lost ground. Shifted inwards in the home straight, turn its head and made muzzle contact with another runner. Trainer Casey Dargusch was advised the greyhound would be stood down pursuant R69 Marring for a first offence and is ineligible to compete at Ipswich for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory Stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

7 Row Row – bumped with another runner through the first turn and was momentarily hampered. Turned its head inwards and muzzle contact with another runner over the concluding stages. Trainer Kerry Hoggan was advised the greyhound would be stood down pursuant R69 Marring for a first offence and is ineligible to compete at Ipswich for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory Stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

8 Canned Heat – proved difficult to load. Slow to begin.

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS NOVICE (1) 431m

1 Stick Hunter – bumped when approaching the first turn.

 

3 Cheeky Nando – tightened for room shortly after the start, checked and lost ground. Checked out off heels when entering the back straight, collided with another runner, checked and lost ground.

 

4 Silent Torpedo – tightened for room shortly after the start, checked and lost ground. Clipped on the heels when entering the back straight and became momentarily unbalanced.

 

5 Circle The Wagon – tightened for room shortly after the start, checked and lost ground.

 

6 After All – tightened for room shortly after the start, checked and lost ground. Collided with another runner, which shifted outwards, when entering the back straight, and was momentarily hampered.

 

7 My Bro Benji – bumped when entering the first turn.

 

8 Mary's Spring – permitted a weight variation of +1.4kg.

 

Race 5 - MCNAMARA LAW NOVICE (2) 431m

1 Last Drink – bumped at the start. Bumped with other runners on many occasions through the first turn and lost ground.

 

2 Spring Motion – bumped at the start. Tightened for room and bumped with other runners on many occasions through the first turn and lost ground.

 

3 Spring Voice – collided with another runner shortly after the start, was severely checked and lost ground. Bumped with other runners on many occasions through the first turn and lost ground.

 

4 This Time Talks – tightened for room shortly after the start, was severely checked and lost ground. Shifted outwards through the first turn, collided with another runner, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Raced wide for most of the event.

 

5 Cawbourne Bonnie – collided with another runner shortly after the start, was severely checked and lost ground. Collided with another runner through the first turn, was severely checked and lost ground. Shortly after, collided with another runner, which shifted outwards, was severely checked and lost considerable ground.

 

6 Ringbark Bound – bumped with another runner when entering the back straight.

 

7 Laser Girl – bumped with another runner when entering the back straight and lost ground.

2 Cabernet Merlot – tightened for room through the first turn, checked and lost ground.  

 

3 Trounced – bumped through the firs turn and was momentarily hampered.

 

4 Annie Alice – stewards acceded to a request from trainer Wayne Thomson to apply temporary strapping to the near wrist. Tightened for room through the first turn, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Contacted on the heels by another runner when entering the back straight, was checked and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

5 Rosdue Citrus – began awkwardly. Tightened for room shortly after the start

 

6 My Purple Rain – tightened for room through the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

7 City Whisper – stewards acceded to a request from trainer Kerry Hoggan to apply temporary strapping to the near hind leg. Tightened for room through the first turn, was severely checked and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

8 Lumen Scar – improved onto a fallen runner through the first turn, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Contacted the heels of another runner when entering the back straight.

 

Race 7 - WHITE ROSE BOARDING KENNELS 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 MIXED 4/5 520m

2 Inga Lewis – bumped with another runner through the turn into the home straight and was momentarily hampered.

 

5 Cool Hand Gus – bumped with another runner when rounding the firs turn and when entering the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

6 Blazing Penske – marginally slow to begin.

 

8 Wee Yes Sam – bumped with another runner when rounding the first turn. Bumped with another runner through the turn into the home straight.

 

Race 8 - TAB 4/5 GRADE HEAT 2 MIXED 4/5 520m

2 Inga Leo – tightened for room when approaching the first turn and was momentarily hampered.

 

3 Uno Yes Sam – bumped at the start and lost ground. Shifted out across heels when entering the first turn and collided with another runner, was checked and lost ground.

 

4 Pump It – bumped when entering the turn first turn and lost ground.

 

6 Hara's Star – slow to begin. Sustained an injury when rounding the turn into the back straight and took no further part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a severe fracture to the offside hock. The greyhound was provided pain relief and bandaging by the on-track veterinarian. Trainer Ashley Sommerfield advised his intentions to retire the greyhound utilising the Racing Queensland Race Meeting Injury Scheme (RMIS) and will take it for immediate specialist treatment at an off-course clinic. Mr Sommerfield was nonetheless advised the greyhound would be stood down for twelve (12) weeks and must provide a veterinary certificate prior to racing.

 

Update 2/9/20: Trainer Ashley Sommerfield advised stewards that the greyhound Hara’s Star successfully underwent surgery on Friday, 28 August 2020 and is expected to recover well with full mobility. Mr Sommerfield further advised connections are giving consideration to the greyhounds’ retirement and will update the QRIC of the final decision after a follow-up injury assessment with a veterinary specialist in the coming weeks.

 

7 Winning Light – collided with another runner, which shifted outwards, when entering the first turn, was checked and lost ground.

 

8 Buck Or Two – marginally slow to begin.

1 Kravitz – marginally slow to begin. Took an awkward stride when racing close to the running rail through the first turn and lost ground.

 

2 Tick Fire Boom – marginally slow to begin.

 

5 Alpha Hestia – bumped through the first turn.

 

6 Slade – tightened for room through the first, checked out off heels and collided with another runner and lost ground. Raced wide for most of the event.

 

7 Impatient Kid – collided with another runner, which shifted outwards, through the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

Race 10 - BODHI INK TATTOO GALLERY GRADE 5 431m

2 Tender Talk – bumped with another runner through the first turn, checked and lost ground. Tightened for room and checked when leaving the back straight.

 

4 Dusty's Charlie – tightened for room through the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

5 Slip The Cuffs – marginally slow to begin. Checked off heels through the firs turn, shifted outwards and lost ground.

 

6 Aerobic Sprite – tightened for room through the first turn, checked and lost ground.

 

8 Alpha Eleni – bumped with another runner through the first turn and was momentarily hampered, then shortly after was contacted on the heels and lost further ground.

 

9 She's Hot Gossip – bumped with another runner through the first turn and was momentarily hampered.
