7 Pretty Fernando – Approaching the 1st turn improved onto heels, into the 1st turn was inconvenienced a short distance later made contact with the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside pin and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

Race 8 - CHASE NEWSPAPER GRADE 5 431m

 

1 Spring Aster – Into the back turn was checked

 

2 Hoover – In the home straight turned its outwards towards the runner to its outside, taking its attention away from the lure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Lisa Druery regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight, after reviewing the video replay and the submissions from Ms Druery, Stewards invoked GAR 124(1) Failing to purse. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Hoover was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

3 Cake Is Bad – Into the 1str turn was checked, entering the back straight was tightened, through the back turn was inconvenienced.

 

4 Harleen Quinzel – Into the back turn was inconvenienced, through the back turn was inconvenienced.

 

6 Queen Of Cakes – Shortly after the start was checked, through the 1st turn improved onto heels, into the back turn was tightened.

 

7 Brisk Impact – Entering the home straight was checked.

 

8 Boxing On – Slow to begin, in the back straight commenced to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination revealed

1 Galway Diva – Slow to begin.

 

2 Bohemian Chariot – Slow to begin, leaving the 1st turn looked awkward its action appearing injured, taking no real competitve part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside hock and was stood down for 90 days and must successfully complete a steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the injury review panel.

 

5 Stick Hunter - Late Scratching weight variation @2:45pm. Trainer R Perry was fined $100 under GAR 101(3)(b).

 

6 Bold Character - Late Scratching weight variation @2:45pm. Trainer J Gordon was fined $100 under GAR 101(3)(b).

 

8 Spring Evie – In the back straight commenced to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside hind leg and was stood down from racing for 10 days

 

 

 

Race 10 - JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 288m

 

2 Seldom Quits – Into the 1st turn was tightened.

 

5 Alvey – Approaching the 1st turn was tightened, into the 1st turn was severely checked almost falling.

 

6 Wild Fernando – Slow begin, through the back turn was inconvenienced.

 

9 Cawbourne Imogen (3) – Into the 1st turn was severely checked.

6 Cool Hand Jane – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside hip and was stood down from racing for 7 days.
