Race 1 - ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE GRADE 6 457m |
|

|
Almighty Leo – clipped on the heels shortly after the start when outside runners shifted inwards abruptly resulting in Almighty Leo to lose ground. Almighty Leo bumped with another runner on several occasions throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Shaun Harward advised he would have the greyhound examined tomorrow and would provide any updates to Stewards. Mr Harward indicated that after the greyhounds’ recent performances consideration would be given to a short spell pending the outcome of tomorrow’s examination.
Wolf Thunder – (favourite) shifted inwards abruptly shortly after the start colliding with other runners. Collided with Almighty Leo on several occasions when rounding the turn out of the back straight and approaching the turn into the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Tony Brett advised he expected Wolf Thunder to struggle with a wide draw and was not surprised when greyhound shifted inwards after the start. He added that the greyhound needs to lead after the start to ensure it is competitive in the run. |

Lumby, Daysea’s Shelly, Uno Nangar, Howdy Hope, Tim Zoo – all greyhounds collided with each other when pulling up in the catching pen and all these greyhounds fell to varying degrees of severity. All greyhounds were examined by the vet post-race race with no abnormalities detected. |

Race 6 - LADBROKES CYNDIE'S MAGIC (G2) HEAT 2 OPEN 550m |

Howdy Cyndie – very slow to begin and trailed the field by some distance for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right shoulder muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Celtic Gold – severely checked shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. Trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. |

Goldstar Whippy – in the back straight Goldstar Whippy was severely checked by Spike Millington, which was losing ground quickly after being checked, resulting in Goldstar Whippy to almost fall and lose considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
Spike Millington – buffeted between runners in the back straight resulting in Spike Millington to be severely checked and lose considerable ground, then colliding with Goldstar Whippy, causing Spike Millington to almost fall. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. |
