1 Ares – Turned its head outwards towards another runner over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside back foot and was subsequently stood down for 3 days. Steward’s spoke to trainers representative B Dargusch regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse (2nd offence) – 28 days stand down at all tracks and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
2 Goldstar Pearl – Stewards spoke to Trainer R Evans regarding the greyhound’s pre-race parading manners. Mr Evans was reminded of GAR103(4) which states that a greyhound must not be carried or assisted to the starting boxes in future events. |
