4 Goodness Baby – Approaching the finishing post turned its head outwards and made muzzle contacted with the runner to the outside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hip. Under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was subsequently stood down from racing for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer C Cauchi regarding the greyhounds’ actions. After considering all available evidence stewards invoked GAR123 Marring (1st Offence) – 28 days stand down from racing and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to returning to racing. |
