General: After the running of Race 10, Stewards were alerted to an issue with the 457m starting boxes being inoperable due to a compressor fault. As a result, Stewards elected to push back one race timeslot to allow the issue to be rectified. New race times below.

Race 1 - INDEPENDENT LIQUOR GROUP MAIDEN 457m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 2 - LADBROKES QUICK MULTI GRADE 5 550m

 

1 Easy To See – Commenced to weaken leaving the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. When questioned over the greyhound’s performance, Trainer Rusty Dillon advised that the greyhound has been overcoming a groin injury and will report back any abnormalities to Stewards over the next few days should any arise. Stewards noted Mr Dillion’s explanation.

 

Race 3 - ENGINEERING BY STP CONSULTANTS GRADE 6 (1) 352m

 

4 Jack And You – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside shoulder and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

Race 4 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 6 (2) 352m

 

2 Goldstar Vogue – Turned its head outwards in the direction of another runner rounding the home turn and for most of the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer’s representative Mrs Bonnie Evans regarding the greyhound’s actions rounding the home turn and, in the home straight. After reviewing the video footage, and hearing Mrs Evans’ submissions, Stewards invoked GAR124(1) Failing to Pursue (1st offence) and stood down Goldstar Vogue for 28 days at Q1 Lakeside plus a satisfactory trial.

 

4 Jack is Back – Tightened for racing room and fell rounding the first turn taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 5 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND GRADE 6 (3) 352m

Race 6 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 6 (1) 390m
