Ladbrokes Q1 Lakeside

 

 

Date: Friday, 27 February 2026

Track: Slow

Weather: Showers

 

Stewards: R.Pedersen, P.McLean, J.Philp

 

General: Stewards went back 2 races after the running of race 5 to allow track staff to make remedial repairs on the track due to the inclement weather. Stewards inspected the track and in consultation with track staff decided to abandon the remaining races at 4:21pm due to prevailing weather conditions and the steady deterioration of the track surface.

 

Race 1 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MDNPW 390m

 

3 Brodie And Me – Checked shortly after the start and commenced to give ground entering the first turn.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Race 2 – ENGINEERING BY STP CONSULTANTS MAIDEN FINAL MAIDEN 390m

 

2 Hope’s Jacky – Checked entering the first turn and made contact with the running rail in the turn.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Race 3 – THE LIDS FLY HOSTED POTS 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 390m

 

5 Lakoda Focus – Turned its head to the outside runner in the home straight taking its attention away from the lure.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer R.Brook regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Failing To Pursue – 28 days stand down at Q1 Lakeside and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 4 – LADBROKES BIG BETS 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 390m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 5 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 390m

 

3 Weather Man Rick – Severely checked and became unbalanced.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

5 Federal Blonde – Turned its head to the outside runner on several occasions through the first turn.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.  Steward’s spoke to trainer A.Bock regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Failing To Pursue – 28 days stand down at Q1 Lakeside and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

7 Grab A Donut – Severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the event entering the first turn.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
