General: Stewards conducted an inquiry into the scratching of Big Al’s from race 8 at todays meeting and the conduct of Mr Warren Nicholls towards a grading official during a phone conversation on Wednesday the 15th of April 2026.
Mr W Nicholls pleaded guilty to a charge and was fined $200.00 under the provisions of GAR 76(7) in that he scratched Big Al’s from today’s event for an unacceptable reason.
Mr W Nicholls pleaded guilty and was reprimanded under the provisions of GAR 156 (f)(ii) misconduct in that he used offensive language during a phone conversation with a grading official.
Mr Nicholls was advised of his right to appeal.

4 Lester Banner – Severely checked entering the home turn. Eased and turned its head outwards towards another runner on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside pin injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Steward’s spoke to trainers representative Riley Dargusch regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to purse by reason of injury – 10 days stand and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
8 Golden Art – Severely checked and fell entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hind leg injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

Race 4 was declared a no race due to the starting boxes malfunctioning and as a result the lids were not fully closed at the start of the event which caused movement with the lids while the greyhounds were boxed. In the opinion of the stewards this had materially affected the result and therefore acting under the provisions of GAR 110 declared the event a No Race.
1 Doogie Mcgraw – Severely checked during the running of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an near side pin injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

8 Loco Ryder – Bumped by another runner on several occasions in the back straight, checked entering the home turn then trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
