Race Meeting Stewards’ Report

Ladbrokes Q1 Lakeside

Date: 8th May 2026

Track: Good

Weather: Fine

Stewards: W Maher (Chair), R Pedersen, S Barr

General:

Prior to the running of Race 1, when conducting the steward’s trials, a mechanical complication caused the lure to momentarily lose power when travelling through the turn out of the back straight. After consulting with track staff, stewards elected to postpone the running of Race 1 to allow the staff the opportunity to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Once the issue was addressed stewards re-assessed the circumstances with track staff and the decision was made to proceed.

Prior to the running of Race 7 the lure had lost power. Stewards made the decision to delay Race 7 by one time slot to allow for repairs, which was extended to two time slots when the issue was unresolved.

Following these delays, the Stewards panel discussed the circumstances with track staff and club management, where the decision was made to abandon races 7-12.
