General: Track staff advised that the track has been harrowed on the 23rd of August, after conducting an initial track inspection Stewards advised track staff that remedial work needed to be completed prior to the first race, after doing so Stewards were satisfied that the track was suitable for racing.

Stewards conducted regular track inspections throughout the meeting deeming it suitable to racing.

 

Trainer Riley Evans was fined $100.00 under the provisions of GAR 99 for failing to ensure that a registered person was present at the catching pen area prior to the commencement of Race 14 for the purpose of catching the greyhounds Goldstar Chanel and Goldstar Rodney.

Race 1 – THE LIDS FLY HOSTED POTS MAIDEN 457m

Race 2 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 5 (1) 352m

 

3 Chloe’s Thunder – Began awkwardly, checked and became unbalanced entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 3 – ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE GRADE 5 (2) 352m

 

No apparent reportable incidents.

 

 

Race 4 – ENGINEERING BY STP CONSULTANTS GRADE 6 (1) 352m

 

9 Grand Thumper – Severely checked and fell entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have soreness over the lower back, the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

 

Race 5 – LADBROKES BIG BETS COPY NOW GRADE 6 (2) 352m

 

7 Frog’s Rock – Severely checked and fell on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side hind leg injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

 

Race 6 - THE LIDS FLY ON LADBROKES LIVE CHANNELS GRADE 6 390m

 

Race 6 was delayed approximately 2 minutes due to a kangaroo on the infield of the track.

 

 

Race 7 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND GRADE 6 457m

 

No apparent reportable incidents.

 

 

Race 8 - LADBROKES QUICK MULTI 1-5 WINS FINAL 1-5 WINS 457m

 

No apparent reportable incidents.

 

 

Race 9 - INDEPENDENT LIQUOR GROUP GRADE 5 550m

 

8 Blow Bayou – Checked soon after the start. Eased and turned its head outwards towards another runner taking its attention away from the lure on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Steward’s spoke to trainer Reg Gardoll regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse 1st offence – 28 days stand down at Q1 Lakeside and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
