General: Attendant Hayden Bloomfield was reminded of his obligations in regard to GAR 81 Control of a greyhound at a racecourse, after the greyhound he was handling in race 10 broke free and ran a short way up the track before being restrained.
On Wednesday 27th August 2025 Stewards concluded an inquiry into an incident in the wash bay at the Q Straight track race meeting on Thursday 21st August 2025. Trainer Richard Perry was reprimanded under the provisions of GAR 156(f)(ii) for engaging in misconduct towards another licence’s participant and using obscene language. |

3 You Tell Her – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration above the offside eye, the greyhound has been stood down for 21 days.

8 Aussie Zip – Made contact with the rail on two occasions at approximately the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 10 was delayed by approximately 5 minutes due to Big Operator breaking free from the handler and running a short distance on the track before it was restrained. The greyhound was subsequently examined by the on course veterinarian and passed fit to race.
1 Big Operator - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.

1 Jamaica Honey – Turned its head outwards towards another runner and shift out taking it attention away from the lure at approximately the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Sandra Hunt regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse 1st offence – 28 days stand down at Q Straight track and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
