3. Too Tough Tommy – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer K Murnane regarding an incident in the catching pen in which Too Tough Tommy was aggressive towards another runner. After hearing the stewards observation and submissions from the trainer, as the greyhound currently races in an aggression muzzle, acting under the provisions of GAR 131(1)(c) Stewards advised trainer K Murnane the greyhound will now be required to have two catchers present when competing at future events. Also acting under the provisions of GAR 131(1)(d) Too Tough Tommy must complete a satisfactory trial prior to competing in a further Event. |

A 7 day stand down was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer K Forrester regarding the greyhound’s racing manners over multiple stages of the event. After reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Blasting did make head contact with the greyhound to its outside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Blasting was suspended from racing at the Q Straight for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trials prior to racing next. |
