4 Milluna Dingo – Checked at the 200m and commenced to give ground. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.
5 Paloma Princess – Eased and turned its head outwards towards another runner approaching the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side hock and was subsequently stood down for 14 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer M Westwood regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse (2nd offence) – 28 days stand down at all tracks and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. |
