Pozzi Tonozzi – faltered when rounding the turn out of the back straight on the second occasion and continued to lose ground for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed injuries to the right chest muscle and right back muscle, resulting in a 10 day stand down period being imposed. Stewards interviewed kennel representative Bailey Dargusch regarding the racing manners of Pozzi Tonozzi on the turn out of the back straight and the remainder of the event. After reviewing all available replay angles, evidence from Mr Dargusch and from their own observations, Stewards were not comfortably satisfied to the requisite standard that Pozzi Tonozzi had offended under any rule and gave it the benefit of doubt. Mr Dargusch advised the greyhound would be spelled and once recovered from its injuries would be put through proper work to get back to suitable racing. |
