General: Prior to the running of race 6 the prevailing weather conditions deteriorated with substantial thunder and lightning passing over and nearby to the race track. After delaying races several times Stewards deemed the continuing lightning to be an unacceptable safety risk and abandoned the remaining races of the meeting.

Race 1 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 6 520m

 

2 Lee Fitz Checked and took an awkward stride leaving the turn into the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury.

 

3 Whoop That Trick Checked entering the turn out of the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a injured back muscle; 28 days stand down from racing and satisfactory completion of one steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

Race 2 - LADBROKES POPULAR SRM MIXED 4/5 600m

 

No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 3 - INDEPENDENT LIQUOR GROUP MIXED 4/5 710m

Race 4 - THE Q - ENGINEERED BY STP CONSULTANTS MIXED 3/4 520m

Race 5 - LADBROKES TOP 2/3/4 BETTING 1-5 WINS 600m

 

                                                           NO RACE

During the running of Race 5 the track lighting went dark for 2 seconds and then came back on to full brightness. It is the opinion of Stewards that this event had a material effect on the outcome of the race, therefore after viewing and considering all the available footage Stewards declared Race 5 a No Race in accordance with GAR 110(1).   

 

2 All Out Fire Commenced to give ground entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a off side hock injury, 90 days stand down from racing and satisfactory completion of one steward’s trial prior to racing next.
