General: Prior to the running of race 9 Stewards conducted a track inspection and deemed it suitable for racing.
Stewards concluded an inquiry into the circumstance surrounding the alleged misconduct between licenced trainers Mr T Tzouvelis and Mr J Crawford which occurred on 3 January 2026 at the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club.
Trainer Mr J Crawford pleaded guilty to a charge under Greyhound Australia Rule 156(f)(ii) misconduct, in that he used inappropriate language towards Mr T Tzouvelis in the presents of other licenced participants and officials. Mr J Crawford was penalised the sum of $200. When considering penalty stewards took into account his plea of guilt and record in relation to the rule. Mr J Crawford was advised of his rights of appeal.
Trainer Mr T Tzouvelis was found guilty of charge under Greyhound Australia Rule 156(f)(ii) misconduct, in that he used inappropriate language towards Mr J Crawford in the presents of other licenced participants and officials. Mr T Tzouvelis was fined the sum of $250. When considering penalty stewards took into account his record in relation to the rule. Mr T Tzouvelis was advised of his rights of appeal. |

8 Purga Lad – Turned its head inwards towards another runner taking its attention away from the lure approaching the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hock sprain, the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ned Snow regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to purse by reason of injury – 7 days stand down and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
