General: Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into a social media video. The inquiry will be continued at a time and date to be fixed.

Race 1 – LABROKES FAST PAYOUTS 6TH GRADE 520M

Maggie’s Song – was contacted heavily on the hindquarter by She Reacts when approaching the first turn causing Maggie’s Song to be severely unbalanced and almost fall, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards advised trainer Peter O’Reilly to report to stewards should anything become apparent of the greyhounds’ condition or post-race recovery after this race meeting.

 

Race 2 – BOX ONE PHOTOGRAPHY GOLDEN SANDS OPEN HEAT 1 600M

Race 3 – BOX ONE PHOTOGRAPHY GOLDEN SANDS OPEN HEAT 2 600M

Race 4 – BOX ONE PHOTOGRAPHY GOLDEN SANDS OPEN HEAT 3 600M

Race 6 - ROSEWOOD VET BOGIE LEIGH FUTURITY (G2) FINAL OPEN 520M

Race 7 - STP CONSULTANTS - CAIRNS & MACKAY FFA 520M

Stewards questioned trainer Colin Graham regarding the circumstances of his late arrival to the kennels to retrieve Sweetest Of All for this race – GAR 97(2). After considering Mr Graham’s explanation, his good record and his remorse, the Stewards issued a reprimand. A sample was taken from Sweetest Of All.

 

Race 8 - GARRARDS QUEENSLAND DERBY (G2) FINAL OPEN 520M

No incidents to report.

 

Race 9 - THE LIDS FLY HOSTED POTS OPEN 710M

Kushti Bok – faltered when rounding the turn out of the back straight and tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hind leg with a 28 stand down period imposed. The greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing again.

 

Unreal Speed – the Stewards permitted a weight variance in accordance with GAR 101(2). Today’s weight of 35.5kg was a variance of -1.7kg.

 

Race 10 - LADBROKES ODDS SURGE MIXED 4/5 520M

Tagovailoa – checked approaching the turn out of the front straight and lost ground. Trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hind leg with a 7 day stand down period imposed.

 

Race 11 - THE Q - ENGINEERED BY STP CONSULTANTS MASTERS 5th GRADE 520M

Howdy Elise – contacted by runners after the finish causing Howdy Elise to fall. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 12 - GORSKI HARDOX TOUGH TIPPERS MASTERS 5th GRADE 520M

Johnny Ice – galloped on the heels over the concluding stages and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
