3. Egyptian Queen – Leaving the turn into the back straight turned its head outwards colliding with the runner to its outside and inconveniencing other runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer J Dart regarding the greyhound’s racing manners for that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay, and hearing the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Egyptian Queen was in breach of GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Egyptian Queen was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. |
