Race Meeting Stewards’ Report

General:

· An issue was raised during kennelling of several fans not working in the kennel bays, stewards noted the difference in temperature in these sections & monitored throughout the course of the meeting. The issues have been raised to the club for rectification immediately.

Race 1 - LOVE A GREYHOUND MAIDEN (1) 407m

6. Investing Izzy – Missed the start. Beaten favourite - Stewards spoke to trainer Amber Boody regarding the greyhound’s performance, who stated, she was surprised by the betting market for the dog, noting it was the last of their current litter to race and the greyhound had in fact run to her expectations of the dogs ability. A post-race urine sample was obtained.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed left and right hind Whip muscle injuries and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

Race 2 - DYNAMIC ELECTRICAL MAIDEN (2) 407m

2. Paraguay Queen – Deviated its attention towards runners on the outside entering the front straight, but did not make muzzle contact. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Amber Boody regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Rockhampton and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

5. Speakeasy – Collided with a runner on the second turn. before deviating its attention towards another runner on the outside and making muzzle contact entering the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Darren Taylor regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 123 Marring (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Rockhampton and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next

6. Bouldy Bullet – Took several awkward strides losing ground on the second turn before being marred by another runner entering the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Les Wisener regarding the greyhound’s performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory therefore invoked GAR 129 Unsatisfactory performance the greyhound must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 3 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN GRADE 6 (1) 407m

· No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 4 - DYNAMIC REFRIGERATION GRADE 6 (2) 407m

· No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 5 - REGGIES PODCAST MIXED 4/5 407m

5. Tick And Flick – Checked and lost footing on the first turn and fell before regaining footing and completed the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

7. King Eternal – Collided with fallen runner and fell heavily on the first turn before regaining footing and completed the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed muscle soreness. and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

Race 6 - BECKETT FAMILY MIXED 3/4 407m

3.Cosmic Beach – Checked off the heels entering the back straight and gave ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings
