Race Meeting Stewards’ Report

General:

Following the stewards initial track walk at 2:20pm concerns were raised with the track curator and the club president regarding the inconsistency of the racing surface, the club made submissions that remedial works would be carried out immediately, Stewards advised that they would re inspect the track following the completion of kennelling at 4:07pm.

When QRIC stewards & the QRIC veterinarian inspected the track at 4:14pm it was still an inconsistent racing surface and deemed it as unsuitable in its current state.

After further consultation with the club, stewards elected to push the first two races back, to allow the club every opportunity to present a surface suitable for racing.

Following a subsequent track inspection at 5:12pm by the QRIC stewards panel and veterinarian it was unanimously agreed that track maintenance staff had not rectified the issue, and stewards declared the track unsatisfactory for racing at 5:23 pm and abandoned the race meeting.
