Race 1 – BETDELUXE TOKENS MAIDEN 407

1. Word Smith – (Beaten Favorite) Began awkwardly . Checked off the hind legs of another runner on the second turn.

6. Taree Ferrari – Shifted wider in the back straight. The greyhound eased and deviated attention entering the front straight, towards a runner on the outside, before regaining pace and finishing the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed offside front triceps muscle injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Les Wisener regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the front straight. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to purse by reason of injury –10 day stand down at Rockhampton and must complete a satisfactory steward’s  trial prior to returning to racing.

Race 2 – BONUS BACK TOKENS WITH BETDELUXE GRADE 6 407m

1. Grand Cassian – Checked soon after the start and gave ground on the first turn. Severely checked dragged down by runner behind and lost considerable ground entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hind leg injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and must complete a veterinary clearance trial prior to returning to racing.

5. May Moo Moo – Severely checked and fell heavily entering the back straight, before regaining footing and completing the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a back muscle injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days

Race 4 – BETDELUXE ROCKHAMPTON YOUNG GUNS HEAT 1 OPEN 407m

8. George Alexis – Deviated its attention towards the outside in the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ken Boody regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the front straight. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse first offence – 28 days stand down at Rockhampton and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial  prior to returning to racing.

Race 6 – BETDELUXE ROCKHAMPTON YOUNG GUNS HEAT 3 OPEN 407m

1. Emergency Man – Dragged down by runner behind entering the second turn. Checked off the hindleg of another runner on the second turn and gave ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
