The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.
Race 8 POISED TO POUNCE Injured in running, chest muscle, 10 days
Race 9 WENEREX Injured in running, off side legs, 10 days
RHONDA’S DYNO and IN THE DOCK both began well. ZAYRAH and FEAR DEMI both dwelt at the start. Soon after the start GRAND ENTRANCE and STAMP LICKER both lost ground when tightened for running. Approaching the top turn GRAND ENTRANCE and FEAR DEMI came together. Both greyhounds were severely checked and raced wide. At the top turn ZAYRAH and STAMP LICKER came together. Both greyhounds were checked.
The greyhound STAMP LICKER was vetted post race and no abnormalities were revealed. Trainer Mr. M Hickmott was advised that a warning would be placed on the greyhound STAMP LICKER for performance bordering on unsatisfactory.
ONE FOOT BEHIND was best to begin. SHOTGUN LADY was slowly away. Approaching the top turn FREDRIK tightened the running of ZIPPING BUBBA resulting in that greyhound shifting out abruptly and severely checking the running of SOMETHING BAD and VELOCITY ONO. MAYWYN MACEY, SHOTGUN LADY and EBONY SPECIAL which were following were all severely checked losing significant ground. SHOTGUN LADY was wide at the home turn.
Race 3 – Grade 5 380m
LIBERTY LEGS was slowly into stride. Soon after the start VERY SPRITELY and LIBERTY LEGS both lost ground when tightened for running. Approaching the top turn BRIGHT REBEL improved onto the heels of RHONDA JOAN. Both greyhounds were checked and lost ground. OUR MADAM which was following was severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the event. At the top turn JACOBITE PHANTOM shifted in severely checking the running of TOPPING which lost significant ground. LIBERTY LEGS which was following was forced wide in avoiding the heels of TOPPING. JACOBITE PHANTOM was wide at the home turn.
The greyhound OUR MADAM was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were revealed.
Race 4 – Mixed 4/5 380m
ON DECK was best to begin. Soon after the start KNIGHTS TEMPLAR lost ground when tightened for running. Approaching the top turn RAZOR ROSE shifted in severely checking the running of COSMIC FREEZE which lost significant ground. At the top turn BOLD DEBREE and GUNNADOO SECRET both lost ground when tightened for running. KNIGHTS TEMPLAR was wide at the home turn.
Race 5 – Grade 5 380m
CAPTAIN LONESTAR and VELOCITY KYZON both dwelt at the start and were both tightened for running shortly after. GUNNADOO DELTA and REECY GOGOLAC came together through the catching pen. As a result REECY GOGOLAC shifted out onto the running of ZIPPING CARLTON, VAPOUR FLIGHT and VELOCITY KYZON which were inconvenienced. VAPOUR FLIGHT and VELOCITY KYZON both became unbalanced and raced wide. GUNNADOO DELTA, LISTEN and ZIPPING CARLTON were racing tight leaving the catching pen. LISTEN and ZIPPING CARLTON were both inconvenienced. GUNNADOO DELTA was wide in the back straight.
Race 6 – Grade 5 498m
TOP END TORQUE was slowly away. General tightening in the run through the catching pen resulted in severe interference to WILDASH DUKE, BEACH FRONT, ELUSIVE DIVA and BIG BAD TOM which all lost significant ground. LITTLE TRISH, WILDASH DUKE and BEACH FRONT were all wide in the back straight.
The greyhound BIG BAD TOM was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were revealed.
Race 7 – Mixed 3/4 380m
EUNICE LILLIAN, BOOTYDO and SUPERMAC all began well. ODD SOX was slowly into stride. Approaching the top turn GUNNADOO RACER lost significant ground when tightened for running to the inside of BOOTYDO. IMPOSING SIND which was following shifted out to avoid the heels of GUNNADOO RACER and in doing so inconvenienced the running of BLUE HOUDINI. BOOTYDO and FROM THE TAP were racing tight and bumping approaching the home turn.
Race 8 – Best 8 380m
DIVVY UP began well. ALL BUT CENTRE was slowly away. Soon after the start COOL SPRITE lost ground when tightened for running. Approaching the top turn POISED TO POUNCE shifted out across the heels of SINDARYN onto the running of BENEDICT GEOFF. Both greyhounds were severely checked and POISED TO POUNCE lost momentum taking no further competitive part in the event. At the home turn BENEDICT GEOFF shifted out across the heels of COOL SPRITE and raced wide.
The greyhound POISED TO POUNCE, which was vetted post race, was found to have sustained an injury in running to the chest muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 9 – Grade 5 380m
SPRING CLOVER and WENEREX both dwelt at the start. Approaching the top turn THANK YOU POP shifted in checking the running of RHONDA’S TEARS. BELIMBA HUSTLER and WENEREX which were following were both inconvenienced and WENEREX raced wide as a result.
The greyhound WENEREX, which was vetted post race, was found to have sustained injuries in running to both off side legs and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 10 – Grade 5 380m
PRINCE OF DOOM was best to begin. LAID BACK LAD dwelt at the start. Soon after the start WIND TRACKER, COBBIN and WHERE’S BLOCKER all lost ground when tightened for running. Approaching the top turn WHERE’S BLOCKER shifted in checking the running of WIND TRACKER which lost significant ground and shifted out forcing LAID BACK LAD wide. WIND TRACKER and LAID BACK LAD were both wide at the home turn.
