The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.
Race 5 MISS LARDIE DA Injured in running, near side fore foot, 10 days
Race 10 ASA EL CHAPPO Injured in running, near side fore leg, 10 days
RUBY’S MAGIC began
well. OCTAVIAN and CRACKLIN’ROSIE were
both slowly into stride. Approaching the
top turn WHERE’S DINO improved onto the heels of FAWN DRAGON. Both greyhounds were checked. At the home turn IN THE DOCK checked off the
heels of WHERE’S DINO.
SPRING PUZZLE and I’M
ALICE both began well. RAVIN’ MAGIC was
slowly into stride. Through the top turn
TINK ALLEN shifted in checking the running of WORLD’S GREATEST. RAVIN’ MAGIC
was wide throughout.
The greyhound LISTEN
CAPTAIN was vetted post race and no abnormalities
were detected.
Race 3 – Novice 380m
MID WESTERN GIRL and TEAM TOKALON were both slowly into stride. Soon after the start ZOEY’S FRIEND shifted in severely checking the running of BRUTON MISS and RHONDA’S DYNO which both lost significant ground. TEAM TOKALON which was following raced wide to avoid the heels of those 2 runners. Approaching the top turn ZOEY’S FRIEND lost ground after improving onto the heels of ASA TOP AGENT.
Race 4 – Masters 380m
MISTIFIDE, WINSOME TOMMY and VELOCITY KYZON were all slowly into stride. Approaching the top turn COOL SPRITE shifted in checking the running of JACK SPRITE which lost significant ground. At the same time MISTIFIDE shifted in onto the running of PRIVATE TALK. Both greyhounds were inconvenienced. WIND TRACKER raced wide for the majority of the event.
The greyhound WIND TRACKER was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were detected.
Race 5 – 5th
Grade 380m
MISS LARDIE DA was best to begin. TOKALON HOTSHOT was slowly away. Soon after the start MISS LARDIE DA knuckled over and lost considerable momentum as a result. Approaching the top turn ZIPPING BUBBA shifted in checking the running of FREDRIK. ASA ENSEE FLY and VELOCITY AIM which were following were also inconvenienced. MISS LARDIE DA which was racing to the inside of those 2 greyhounds was checked and lost ground. Approaching the home turn ASA ENSEE FLY shifted in onto the running of MISS LARDIE DA which was checked severely and lost further significant ground.
The greyhound MISS LARDIE DA was vetted post race and was found to have sustained a nearside fore foot injury in running. Trainer’s representative Ms. G Thomson was advised that MISS LARDIE DA would be stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 6 – 4/5th
Grade 498m
LISTEN and PEPPA PIG CLOUD both began well. SNEAKIN’ ROUND and ZAYRAH came together through the catching pen. Both greyhounds became unbalanced. Leaving the catching pen ELUSIVE DIVA shifted in onto the running of ASA EXTREME which lost ground. Approaching the top turn ASA EXTREME shifted out onto the running of ZAYRAH taking that greyhound wider on the track. Through the top turn ELUSIVE DIVA shifted in inconveniencing the running of SCORPIO JAY. At the home turn SCORPIO JAY improved onto the hindquarters of LISTEN which was checked and raced wide as a result.
Race 7 – 3/4th
Grade 380m
LIBERTY LEGS was best to begin. Approaching the top turn GUNNADOO DELTA shifted out checking the running of COSMIC FREEZE and MAYWYN’S ACE which both lost ground.
Race 8 – Best 8 380m
BOOTYDO and EUNICE LILLIAN both began well. RAZOR ROSE was slowly into stride. BENEDICT GEOFF lost ground when tightened for running through the back straight. Through the top turn GUNNADOO SECRET lost ground when tightened for running between WHERE’S BLOCKER and BENEDICT GEOFF.RAZR ROSE was wide throughout.
The greyhound GUNNADOO SECRET was vetted post race and no abnormalities were detected.
Race 9 – 4/5th
Grade 380m
WILDASH DUKE and BRIGHT REBEL both began well. Approaching the top turn GUNNADOO RACER improved onto the heels of WILDASH DUKE which was checked and lost ground. COSMIC PAULY was wide throughout.
Race 10 – 5th
Grade 380m
MOO MOO and JACOBITE PHANTOM both began well. TREADSTONE CAIN was slowly away. Approaching the top turn VERY SPRITELY when in clear running shifted in making heavy contact with the running rail and was severely checked as a result. Approaching the winning post ASA EL CHAPPO appeared to falter in its action and lose momentum. The greyhound appeared to become unbalanced soon after and shifted in making contact with the running rail on the run into the catching pen.
The greyhound VERY SPRITELY was vetted post race and no abnormalities were detected.
The greyhound ASA EL CHAPPO was vetted post-race and was found to have sustained a nearside fore leg injury in running. Trainer Mr. M Hickmott was advised that ASA EL CHAPPO would be stood down for a period of 10 days.
