The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

Race 9             ELITE ROBBO                      Injured in running, off hind back muscle, 28 days

 

GENERAL

 

The greyhound SAHARA DESERT performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 380m in a time of 23.10 seconds and is now cleared to nominate at all tracks.

 

The greyhound LITE BEAM performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 380m in a time of 22.47 seconds and is now cleared to nominate at all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

LISTEN CAPTAIN and WORLD’S GREATEST both began well.  Approaching the top turn KNOCKIN’ BLUE was checked off the heels of LISTEN CAPTAIN and shifted out abruptly, severely checking the running of COMMANCHE and forcing that greyhound wide.  RAIL GUN was also inconvenienced.  Through the top turn JESSICA’S MONEY shifted in onto the running of LISTEN CAPTAIN which lost ground.  COMMANCHE and RAIL GUN were both wide at the home turn.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 380m

IMA WANTED was slowly away.  Soon after the start PETITE MAGIC and CRACKLIN’ ROSIE both lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn BAILINATOR shifted out onto the running of FAWN DRAGON.  Both greyhounds became unbalanced and raced wide.

 

Following the running of this event Stewards upgraded the track rating from SLOW to GOOD.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 380m

ABRAHAM KEEPING began well.  Approaching the top turn FARMOR TO DO shifted in checking the running of ABRAHAM KEEPING.  VINDICATION and FACE TIME which were following were also severely checked and lost significant ground.  Approaching the home turn FACE TIME lost ground after shifting out across the heels of GUNNADOO COBRA.  ABRAHAM KEEPING, GUNNADOO COBRA and FACE TIME were all wide at the home turn.

 

The greyhound TINK ALLEN was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were revealed.

 

Race 4 – Novice 380m

VELOCITY AIM was best to begin.  BON ECHO was slowly away.  Soon after the start RUBY’S MAGIC lost ground when tightened between runners.  ASA TOP AGENT and MAYWYN MOOLA were both wide through the back straight.  Approaching the top turn GAGAN ELL improved onto the heels of VELOCITY AIM.  Both greyhounds were severely checked.  HOLIER THAN THOU and ASA TOP AGENT which were following were also checked.  HOLIER THAN THOU lost significant ground.  Through the top turn HOLIER THAN THOU and BON ECHO came together heavily.  Both greyhounds were unbalanced.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 380m

ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS was best to begin.  OUR MADAM and FREDRIK were both slowly into stride.  LISTEN and EBONY SPECIAL both lost ground when tightened between runners soon after the start.  Approaching the top turn FEAR ANDY and ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS came together.  As a result ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS shifted out onto the running of COSMIC PAULY and FREDRIK. ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS and FREDRIK both lost ground.  COSMIC PAULY was forced wider on the track. OSMIC PAULY and EBONY SPECIAL were both wide at the home turn.

 

Race 6 – 3/4th Grade 380m

ALL BUT CENTRE was slowly away.  Approaching the top turn AMY’S ELITE shifted in onto the running of ODD SOX.  Both greyhounds were checked.  RAZOR ROSE and LIBERTY LEGS which were following were both severely checked.  CARLYLE TYCOON was forced wider on the track.  All 5 greyhounds lost significant ground in this incident.  RAZOR ROSE was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 7 – Australia Day Final 498m

ZAYRAH was slowly away.  Through the catching pen SPUDNUT and PATJACK LOMAR came together.  Both greyhounds were unbalanced.  Leaving the catching pen PRIVATE TALK and ZAYRAH came together.  Both greyhounds were unbalanced.  SPUDNUT was wide through the back straight.  Approaching the top turn ROCKET’S MAGIC lost ground when tightened between SCORPIO JAY and SPUDNUT which was shifting in.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 380m

DIVVY UP began well.  Through the back straight WHERE’S BLOCKER shifted in tightening the running of BOOTYDO and EUNICE LILLIAN both of which lost ground.  Approaching the top turn EUNICE LILLIAN shifted in onto the heels of COSMIC FREEZE.  Both greyhounds were inconvenienced.  GUNNADOO DELTA was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 380m

ELITE ROBBO, NANIERNA and SNAKE PROOF all began well.  VELOCITY KYZON, MID WESTERN GIRL and MAGIC CHAOS all dwelt at the start.  Through the back straight VELOCITY KYZON was inconvenienced after improving onto the heels of NANIERNA.  Approaching the top turn ELITE ROBBO, when leading and in clear running, faltered in its action losing momentum and significant ground.  VELOCITY KYZON which was following was severely checked.

 

The greyhound ELITE ROBBO which was vetted post-race was found to have sustained back muscle injury in running and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 380m

VERY SPRITELY, BRILLIANT EMMA and BRUTON MISS all began well.  TREADSTONE CAIN was slowly away.  Through the back straight BRILLIANT EMMA lost ground when tightened for running between VERY SPRITELY and BRUTON MISS which was shifting in.  WHAT’S FOREVER which was following was forced wide in avoiding the heels of those runners.  Approaching the top turn BRUTON MISS was checked off the heels of VERY SPRITELY.  ASA ENSEE FLY and WHAT’S FOREVER were both wide at the home turn.
