Due to Government advice around COVID-19, in accordance
with GAR 51(10), the Stewards directed the Starter to box the greyhounds into
the starting boxes in the following order, 1 & 5, followed by 3 & 7,
followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8 for all races.

Race 1 – ANGLISS MEATS MAIDEN

|
4 Cooinda – Stewards
questioned the racing manners of the greyhound in particular the front
straight. After speaking to the trainer, S. Atkinson, the greyhound was
stood down for a period of 28 days and the completion of a satisfactory
trial for tailing to pursue the lure with due commitment.

6 Captain Pappa – Tightened
for racing room in the back straight.
|

Race 2 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MAIDEN (2) 380m
|
|
The start of the race was delayed 1 minute due to overseas racing.
|
1 Go Rusty Go – Checked off
heels on the turn into the front straight.
|
|
|
|
4 Dreary Camel – Lost ground approaching the
turn out of the back straight and continued to lose ground finishing a
distant last. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to
have a cardiac condition and was stood down for a period of 28 days, a
veterinary certificate prior to racing and a satisfactory trial. The
trainer advised that it was her intention to retire the greyhound
immediately.

Race 3 – BURDEKIN VETERINARY SERVICES NOVICE 380m
|
|
Trainer P. Smith was fined $50 under the
provisions of GAR 39.3 for presenting Max the Maniac to race with a weight
variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing.
Subsequently Max the Maniac was a late scratching from the race.
