Race 1 - TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 1000 FINAL MAIDEN 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 2 - ESSERY RACING GRADE 3 380m

 

3 Call Me Alice – Fell in the catching pen at the conclusion of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left ear, no stand down time issued.

 

8 Timma Turtle Two – Shifted outwards towards another runner in the home straight, turning its head outwards towards that runner. A post-race veterinary examination conducted at the trainers request revealed an injury to the left back muscle, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. G. Thomson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR124 failure to pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. The greyhound was observed by stewards to display aggression towards another runner in the catching pen at the conclusion of the event, subsequently acting under the provisions of GAR131(b) directed that Ms. Thomson have 2 catchers for the greyhound at future starts.

 

 

Race 3 - IN MEMORY OF PETER GROVES FFA 380m

Race 4 - FUEL PT TRAINING SOLUTIONS MIXED 4/5 498m

 

7 Tangelo Tornado – Dragged down rounding the first turn. Lost ground from the turn off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right shoulder, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.

 

 

Race 5 - TOWNSVILLE YOUNG GUNS HEATS GRADE 5 498m

 

1 Helsinki Rico – Checked rounding the first turn. Put in an awkward stride rounding the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.

 

 

Race 6 - POSTMAN'S RIDGE GREYHOUNDS MIXED 3/4 498m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 7 - QGOLD HEAT 1 OPEN 498m

 

8 Eugene – Checked shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a spike injury to the left fore, no stand down time was issued.

 

 

Race 8 - QGOLD HEAT 2 OPEN 498m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 9 - CHEAPA AUTO SPARES GRADE 4 (1) 380m

 

5 Express Pack – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer stated the greyhound jumped well tonight which was in its favour and was able to lead the field and sustain no interference, also having been raced consistently since a break in racing, the greyhound has reached a good level of fitness. Ms. Chaffey stated she was unaware if anyone in the kennel had supported the greyhound in wagering.

 

8 Blue Marine – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked. Clipped the heels of another runner exiting the first turn and fell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the lumbar region, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.

 

 

Race 10 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES GRADE 4 (2) 380m
