Race 2 - CHEAPA AUTO SPARES GRADE 5 (1) 498m |
|
|
|
The lure failed to trigger the starting boxes for this event. All runners underwent a veterinary examination at the boxes and were passed fit to start. The boxes were tested manually and with the lure, subsequently the field was re-loaded and the race was started without further issue.

Race 3 - CHRIS SCIFLEET GRADE 5 (2) 498m |

1 Maxwell Rhodes – (Beaten favourite) Tired over the concluding stages.
3 Madeline Rupee – When questioned regarding the greyhound’s performance trainer Mr. J. Schafer stated that he was confident the greyhound would perform well over this distance, having trialled very well over the distance recently. Mr Schafer stated he did not support the greyhound in wagering.

5 Hara’s Cookie – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have cramped post race, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.
8 Jimmy Roo – (Beaten favourite) Marginally slow to begin.

3 Maisie Moo Moo – When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, trainer Mr. T. Parker stated that he believes the greyhound to be performing according to its potential, noting that the greyhound’s ability has been apparent since winning a 498m event on 06/05 but not yet realised over the 380m.

2 Black Rifle – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
7 Federal Bullet – (Beaten favourite) Checked shortly after the start. Hampered rounding the first turn.

Race 8 - TOWNSVILLE YOUNG GUNS HEAT 4 OPEN 380m |

|
Prior to the all clear signal being given, Stewards reviewed the photo finish capture with the Judge’s. After reviewing, the Judges changed the semaphored placings from 2-4-1 to 5-2-4-1 and the all clear was given.
8 Canya Sunset – A pre-race sample was obtained.

Race 10 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES GRADE 4 (1) 380m |

|
4 Arka Rain – Dragged down by another runner rounding the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.
6 Showtime Imogen – Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and was checked and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
8 Tuta Storm – Severely checked rounding the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a compound fracture to the right radius. Due to the catastrophic nature of this injury the greyhound was euthanised on humane grounds.
