Race 1 - AUSSIE PET & ANIMAL TRAVEL MAIDEN 380m

 

3 Tobias Ivy – Eased and turned its head outwards towards another runner when exiting the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. B. Chaffey regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to pursue (2nd offence) – 28 days stand down at all tracks and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

Race 2 - CHEAPA AUTO SPARES GRADE 6 (1) 380m

 

2 Psycho Fury – Checked exiting the first turn. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a compound fracture to the right hind leg. The greyhound was subsequently euthanised on humane grounds. Post-mortem samples were collected.

 

7 So Much Chatter – Checked exiting the first turn. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to be lame in the right foreleg and a toe injury to the right hind foot, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to future nominations being accepted.

 

 

Race 3 - SIC AIR CONDITIONING GRADE 6 (2) 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 4 - ALL RIG LIFTING & ENGINEERING MA5 380m

 

7 Mercurial Dancer – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer Mr. K. Wheeler stated that although the greyhound hasn’t recently raced, he has been able to consistently trial on a straight track to build fitness which the greyhound has benefited from. Stewards noted the explanation.

 

 

Race 5 - GARBUTT SELF SERVICE STORE PATHWAYS FINAL 5PW 380m

Race 6 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 380m

Race 7 - A-MECH SERVICES 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 380m

 

8 She’s Winning – Eased when entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a sprain to the right wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 14 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. H. Wooler regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 14 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Ms Wooler stated that it is her intention to retire She’s Winning.

 

 

Race 8 - DON HOBSON PLUMBING 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 380m

Race 9 - GARBUTT NEWS & POST OFFICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 380m

 

8 Come By Chance – Dragged down another runner entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the right hindleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.

 

 

Race 10 - ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES AUSTRALIA 5TH GRADE HEAT 5 GRADE 5 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 11 – LOUND SEAFOOD 5TH GRADE HEAT 6 GRADE 5 380m

 

3 Jackknifed – Made contact with the catching pen gate at the conclusion of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the nose, no stand down time issued.

 

6 Blue Marine – Late scratching at 11:17am pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have a split webbing on the right fore foot during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

 

9 Untamed Velocity (8) – Hampered in the back straight and checked rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the right foreleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.

 

 

Race 12 - OCEAN WORLD SEAFOOD 5TH GRADE HEAT 7 GRADE 5 380m

 

3 Affleck – Checked shortly after the start and became unbalanced and almost fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the left elbow, no stand down time issued.

 

5 At The Roxy – Checked and fell shortly after the start. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the neck, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.
