6. Sneaky Pete – In the home straight momentarily eased directing its attention the runner to its inside from the lure. A post-race veterinary an injury to its nearside back muscle. A 7 day stand down was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer’s representative K Boody regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Boody, stewards deemed Sneaky Pete to be in breach of GAR 125 Failing to Pursue with injury. Sneaky Pete was suspended from racing at Townsville for 7 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial. |

7. Canya Goose – Into the 1st turn was inconvenienced, entering the back straight commenced the weaken. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer M Hobbs regarding the performance of Canya Goose. After hearing submissions from Mr Hobbs and viewing all the available race footage. Stewards took no further action. |
