4 Souvlaki George – Faltered in its action rounding the first turn and conceded considerable ground. Failed to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed injuries to the right hip support and the right wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 14 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. D. Preh regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

6 Mr. Kaplan – Shifted in abruptly and turned its head inwards towards another runner on entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right elbow, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 14 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. D. Miles regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Failure to pursue by reason of injury – 14 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
