Race 1 - BURDEKIN VETERINARY SERVICES GRADE 6 380m |
|
|
|
4 Birdie’s Charm – Late scratching at 2:26pm pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have illness – scours during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 3 days.
5 Canya Stella – Made contact with the running rail when rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 2 - BET NATION STAYERS CHALLENGE HEAT 1 OPEN 643m |

2 Anna Rumble – A pre-race sample was obtained. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a bilateral hamstrings injury, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.
3 Project Alice – Late scratching at 11:04am pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to illness, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

1 Spa – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. R. Essery regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.
6 Affleck – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight, became unbalanced and ran extremely wide, contacting the outside barrier. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 5 – BET NATION TOWNSVILLE CUP (G2) HEAT 2 OPEN 498m |

1 Tilly’s Son – Made contact with the running rail rounding the second turn and was severely checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hip support, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.
2 Moustache Mick – Severely checked rounding the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the right foreleg and an injury to the right hip support, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.
5 Bar One Smokers – Severely checked rounding the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
7 Jay Walking – (Beaten favourite) Checked shortly after the start. Checked rounding the second turn.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.

7 Couch Commentary – Severely checked rounding the first turn and conceded considerable ground. Failed to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the left fore foot and a left fore toe injury. Under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.
