3 Go Forward Red – Lost contact with the field racing through the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. M. Rajan regarding the greyhound’s performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory and invoked GAR 129 (Unsatisfactory Performance). The greyhound must complete a satisfactory Steward’s trial prior to racing next.
4 Federal Freckle – After noting significant wagering support for FEDERAL FRECKLE, Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. G. Farrell who stated that he had supported the greyhound in wagering and had advised others that he believed the greyhound would improve significantly from its previous start – being a first start and sustaining an injury during running. Mr. Farrell advised the greyhound had trialled satisfactorily when he accepted FEDERAL FRECKLE into his kennel and had confidence that the greyhound would prove competitive against todays race field. Stewards noted the explanation. A pre-race urine sample was obtained. A post-race blood sample was obtained.
7 Takeover Target – Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. M. Hickmott regarding the greyhounds’ actions over the concluding stages of the event. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

Essery regarding the greyhounds’ racing manners.
