5 Blitzen Hazel Turned its head out taking its attention away from the lure on several occasions passing the home straight.
Blitzen Hazel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a near fore shoulder injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Hayley Wooler, regarding the greyhounds’ racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125(a), failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury Blitzen Hazel was found in breach and must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 127(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

8 Major Ando Collapsed shortly after the start. Took no further part in the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an intractable spinal injury. After examination Major Ando was humanely euthanised. Stewards ordered a necropsy under the provisions of GAR 43(1). |
