2 Utmost – Checked by another runner entering the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside back muscle, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 14 days.
7 Instinctively – Checked off another runner entering the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event and failed to finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.

After the running of this event, the Judge semaphored the placings as 1-8-7-5. Upon review of the photo finish capture by Stewards, the placings were amended to 1-8-5-7 on which the Stewards declared All Clear.

1 Lightning Tully – Conceded ground rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days.
3 Miss Two Step – Bumped rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to a nearside fore toe, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.
5 Big Bubba Gump – Checked and fell rounding the first turn. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the nearside foreleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days.
7 Hara’s Kitana – (Beaten favourite) Bumped rounding the first turn. Appeared awkward in its action in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a haematoma in the neck region and swelling of the offside hind leg. Under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.
8 Basil Fawlty – When questioned regarding the greyhounds improved performance trainer Ms. R. Essery stated that she was pleased with the greyhounds run and believes the greyhound to have improved in condition due to changes in diet and training intensity. Stewards noted the explanation. |
