Race 1 – BET NATION TOWNSVILLE GRADE 6 380m |

8 Sand Express – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside triceps, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. H. Wooler regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 5 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 2 – DREW WOOLER GRADE 5 (1) 380m |

|
3 Roman Party – Made contact with the inside running rail rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

8 Don’t Tell Shilo – On retrieval from the racing kennels was observed to be severely lame. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to future nominations being accepted.

1 Canya Wow Me – (Beaten favourite) Marginally slow to begin. Bumped shortly after the start. When asked to comment on the greyhound’s performance trainer Mr. S. Scott stated that the greyhound performs best when leading and added that he did not support the runner in wagering.

Race 8 - GET ON A GOOD THING WITH BET NATION MIXED 1/2 380m |

4 Eternal Winter – Clipped the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and appeared momentarily awkward in its stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
8 Aston Elisha – Dragged down by another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a spike wound to the offside hind paw abrasions to the nearside hind leg. Under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days.

Race 9 - MPL REFRIGERATION GRADE 4 (1) 380m |

2 Made You Look – Checked entering the first turn and then dragged down and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event and failed to finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed injuries to both forelegs, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.
4 Ascend Kalmia – Clipped the heels of another runner entering the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination was not conducted. Stewards firmly reminded trainer Ms. B. Chaffey regarding post-race vetting of greyhounds and directed Ms. Chaffey to contact Stewards immediately upon returning to their kennels and further tomorrow morning regarding the greyhounds’ condition.
6 Need A Tow – Clipped the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to both hind legs, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 14 days.
