5 Gifted Lilly – Bumped in the back straight. Faltered in its action in the back straight and conceded considerable ground. Failed to finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to future nominations being accepted.
7 Set Of Sisters – Eased entering the first turn. Checked rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed injuries to both dew claws, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Steward’s spoke to trainers representative Mr. P. Smith regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 5 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
