This event finished as a follow-on in the catching pen due to a runner returning into the field.
1 Hara’s Harper – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground. Continued to concede ground in the back straight before pulling up at the turn off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a scratch and bruising to the nearside hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. R. Essery regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 7 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
4 Federal Cash – (Beaten favourite) Checked rounding the first turn and became momentarily unbalanced.

5 Charlie’s Begonia – Appeared lame in the offside fore post-race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have cramped post-race. No stand down time was issued.
