1 Baby Big Buzz – Turned its head towards another runner in the home straight, shifted ground towards that runner and made muzzle contact. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside chest muscle, a spike wound to the nearside hind paw and bruising to the nearside eye region, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. R. Essery regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 123 Marring (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

2 Shian Mikey – Checked and faltered rounding the first turn. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside shoulder and bruising to the offside hind, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days.
5 Ordinary – Clipped the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
