Rider expl'n tactics - anticipated settling midfield position with cover but when SAVWELL began better and proceeded forward three wide he would have had to work too hard to attempt to clear that runner approaching 1000m and as ADMIRAL JELLO improved to his inside for this reason restrained behind that runner. Added tempo then slowed and he may have erred not attempting to improve forward outside ADMIRAL JELLO approaching 600m. Despite not suited by tempo when racing in rearward position he was disappointed with manner in which it quickened in home straight. Refer Stewards Report.
